Soooo I have been looking forward to the release of Skyrim since it was first announced but i am also currently In the middle of a very harsh semester at school. So to insure I don't fail half my classes in the last stretch I'm am making a personal decision to abstain from buying Skyrim for at least another month. I'm just curious if anyone else is being forced to make this tragically beneficial decision for whatever reason.
Well, I may decide to get it after launch. It depends. I have quite a few titles to catch up on.

I might get the GotY edition when that comes out though. That's always a thought.
Yeah, I'm getting that. Already picking out where I'm going to put the Alduin statue and the tabletop map.

I'm getting through the rough beginning (followed by the rougher exams, but at least then I'll know whether I get the stuff or not) so I'm getting it around the christmas holidays. Plus hopefully that'll be enough time for them to start patching the tidal wave of bugs people seem to suspect. Advantage, for sure, but I think that since it's on a completely new engine some optimism isn't too far fetched.

No way. Ordered my copy a few days ago and it's getting installed and played as soon as it arrives.

Arkham city is out on the 8th, giving me 3 days to beat it before Skyrim comes on the 11th. Uncharted should arrive on the 2nd, so I should be able to beat before the others. I'll have to mix in a little battlefield and dark souls beforehand obviously.

I really love that I have money.

I'm still getting it at release but I doubt I'll play it until a week or two later due to a combination of school work due in those last few weeks and the fact that I'm still be playing BF3 and Uncharted 3 along with the new AC 4 days later, since its purely a single player game its getting pushed back. I tend not to let games effect school too much.

I'll probably get it the week after it comes out, on my birthday. I'll be getting it on consoles to play the vanilla version, then I'll wait a few years until my rig's been updated, and then I'll get it on PC for mods.
Too many games, too little time.

I was more interested till I heard they're being inspired off Fallout 3's level scaling which was not fun for me, it was too easy no matter what I did. So not getting it, probably will play off my friends game.

That's what I'm waiting for. I'm cheap/broke and I never buy games when they first come out. I always wait a while and get them when they are on sale. I'm getting Mass Effect 2 and Fallout 3 (though I've played it on my pal's 360 a while back, I'll be getting the PC version since I'm too broke for a console right now) this December to give you an idea on where my game schedule stands.

Good luck, this is like not having sex with your girl because you're going to the military...

I have plenty of games in my backlog. Will buy when the queue clears up, most likely at a reduced price by then.

I myself am waiting only so I can enjoy it more on a computer that I won't own until about Black Friday. Hopefully it will be worth the wait.

The moddong community needs time to turn it into a playable game, so i'll be waiting at least 3 months maybe more before I try the followup to bethesda's last trainwreck.

I'm going to wait until I get a new PC, then wait longer until a sale appears on Steam, then wait even longer (if need be) for the game to be patched and made playable.

Not too psyched about Skyrim, better PC is more important!

Well I was planning on buying it on launch but not anymore. I just found out the mgs collection comes out on like the 9th or something so I am gonna cancel my skyrim preorder and put the money on mgs instead. I will probably buy skyrim in a couple years or so if their is absolutely nothing else at all available anywhere.
I'm so torn.. I lovveeee MGS but I played em all.. butttt there in HD.... butttt its skyrim and it looks awesome from the 1st 20 minute demo I saw just released. I'll wait on MGS..

I don't know if I should buy Skyrim in november or in july when I come back from my 6 months in Australia.

Obviously I won't be able to play when I'll be away and I don't want to start a game in Skyrim, do a 6 months pause and then continue. It would never work and I'd have to start again.

Unless I really have time to spare (between getting drunk with friends, working, rampaging in Battlefield 3, assassinating in Assassin's Creed: Revelations or even hunting for 100% achievements in Batman: Arkham City), I think I'll postpone buying Skyrim and Mass Effect 3 until july.

Pity because I really wanted ME3 Collector's Edition... :/

I'm buying it. My dilemma is that if I play Skyrim then by the time I'm done with it ACR will probably have run out of a multiplayer community, based on what happened to the Brotherhood one.

But if I play ACR through the campaign, then do multiplayer by taking it in turns which game I play, by the time I reach Skyrim all of my friends will be way ahead and every conversation I enter will irritate me.

Oh and there's Battlefield 3, Arkham City and various others. Somehow I have to finish Skyrim to an acceptable degree before Mass Effect 3 is released, Oblivion took me about a year!

Also there's university and getting a degree but that's nothing, we pay that no attention...

Me, because I'll probably need to upgrade my graphics card and RAM to handle it.
