Who else is super stoked about LA Noire!?

Super stoked? Not really. A friend of mine convinced me yesterday to pre-order it and I am willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. I'll probably like it, but I haven't been looking forward to it.
The whole facial animation thing looks awesome, but I can't really see the use in it. You can't tell by facial expression whether or not someone is lying (unless you're one of those weird people that can read micro-expressions or the motion capture actors are doing their utmost to look suspicious -_-
, so it probably won't have any use real gameplay-wise...

The game looks good and I'm excited for it but at the same time, there are a lot of things I'm not so stoked about. For instance, I don't generally like Rockstar and their stupid smug attitude towards everything. No game is worth $60 in general yet they think their game is so amazing that the price isn't worthy of the full content. While that sort of arrogance irks the hell out of me, they still make good games and I'm excited for it but I'm definitely going to wait until I hear some reviews or just comments from my friends before I buy it.

actors require loads of pay and perks
films require locations, locations cost money
CGI is expensive and hard to do
a team of people working with this engine to make a film would be much cheaper
the special effects could be made in game (not that hard)

SUPER psyched, especially considering I got it for such a good steal (only friggin 45 bucks).
I'm a little sad though. Cuz I spent my cash on L.A. Noire, this means I'll have to wait before getting Brink, another game I was really eagerly anticipating.

I'm very excited for LA Noire. Nothing like this has ever been done before and it should be interesting to find out if it all comes together.

For all their talk of making the faces really life like the faces look like shit honestly, and since the game is supposed to be about detective work, and alot of usage of the "lie or truth" idea, but i cant really tell when their faces look like blobs like most games.

For sure. Keep 'em coming folks! I did see there is a point where you cannot lose on a case but you can go back and redefine it. This is a decent compromise..
Not really psyched about it, kinda pissed that Rockstar kind of has dropped support for their PC fanbase, first they cancel Red Dead Redemption, and no LA Noire.

I own a 360, but I just can't get used to controllers, I can sit down and pretty much play like 5 hours straight on a PC if I really need to; but as soon as I pick up a controller my hands are cramped and in pain after like an hour.
