First - please stop complaining about price. games average 110$ in AUS (which is about the same as in american)
Actually, the current conversion ratio is 1 AUD = 1.05624 USD, which is nearly the same, so you guys are actually getting shafted big time.

However, according to Captcha, that could all change:

I got it yesterday and pretty much havn't stopped playing.
And to the people who constantly call it out for the single player, it wasn't designed to be a single player game. It was built around multiplayer. That's the point of the game.
Well it sorta advertised itself on saying that it intergrated singleplayer with multiplayer, and honestly I don't really see that myself. I just see a multiplayer-designed game also being available for singleplayer, but with crappy bots.

Interestingly, I just watched a video, and the creative director said that US reviewers didn't get the patch on time, so they reviewed a unfinished version of the game.
He also said that the firndly bots actually are made so that they DON'T take obejctives, so that they give a chance for you to take them, and that they are going to change that.

Apparently the have a system where they update the game without the need of a patch, so you may not even notice these changes unless you look for the.

I'm really enjoying it, me and mates had a good long session on it on Friday, I like how the game rewards team work, and how it punishes those who go Rambo.

Yeah I'm not saying they didn't deliver on the integration, but people expecting any sort of solid "single player" experience were always going to be disapointed.
The campaign size definatly could of been longer, that's my only real gripe with the game. I think playing through the 'campaign' with other people works really well though, just could be more of it.

I like it, but i'm glad I rented it first as I would not spend £40 on it.

Parkour? My arse.

Though I like the classes and the customization.
It's a shame that multiplayer is very laggy and you cannot play with lower ranks. Also sucks that you play with bots most of the time instead of real people.

It could all be done better.

I feel like every review you read online is accurate.

By that I mean the gameplay is a lot of fun especially with friends, customization is nice (guns and characters alike), free-running is decent (sliding into enemies, vaulting over obstacles, etc. is great), and the class-based objectives are definitely fun and varied enough to stay interesting with multiple characters.

That said, the parkour isn't as amazing as promised, nor is the customization (you get like 40 outfits to mix and match and change colors, whoop-de-doo), and yeah the games can get pretty damned choppy and wonky at times.

Plus there really isn't enough mission content here - 8 missions per faction, some of which can be won in like 10 minutes with an organized team. I played through all missions at least twice, beat every challenge, and maxed out 2 characters in 4 days. Got 1000/1000 with minimal effort.

So yeah, again I find the both the praise and criticism of this game to be accurate. It's fun and promising - when it works - but there's not enough here to make me keep coming back.

The parkour overall works, even though the levels are a little too short to fully take advantage of it. The customisation is a joke to me. I don't get why people get such stiffies any more for being able to choose from one of so many combinations when you can't even see the character.

The story is kinda bland. No real care put into it and most of the exposition for it is done during loading screens which you'll most likely skip and the 20 second start up cinematic which again you will likely skip.

The AI is stupid on your side and on the enemy's side it suddenly becomes aware of every single movement you make and pinpoints you the minute you shoot, but the patches fixed that somewhat, now there's a .04 second delay, woopie. Also for some reason it feels like the enemies wait a fraction of a second before falling after being shot. Don't know if this is universal but my friends and I noticed it today.

Single player sucks. Get friends to play with you any way you can. It works as a multiplayer game and can be fun even if some of the bottleneck parts of the levels are very hard to pass. With at least 2 other people on your side it'll be fun.

I think overall it's a decent game, but it shouldn't have been 50-60 bucks. A game that can only stand on its multiplayer aspect should really be less, but at least they're giving away the first set of DLC for free to make up for the unfinished feel of the initial release. First day patches don't bode well for proving you really put an effort into the game.
The character customization is the biggest downfall of the game. Sure you get lots of options and whatnot but in a class based game you need to know who is what. Medics are the work of the devil and must be shot on sight. But there is no way to distinguish who is a medic before you see the blue line going to a downed teammate. And by then it is too late.

And I don't know if i was playing it wrong or what but what good is the spy disguise? Other than not being blown to kingdom come by the enemy when I run into a pack of them I failed to see what good it did.

Brink made me miss TF2

Its still got some pretty bad bugs on the pc. (sound routinely cuts out for all players on one map and I occasioanlly get a bug where all enemy sprites dissapear)
Turning off all the VOIP options should keep the sound from cutting out. Hopefully there will be a real fix for that soon.

most of the problems people have with it are being addressed and taken care of. I played it and its definitely worth the buy, the dlc coming in june is going to be needed and thankfully it should be free.

I'll give that a try, see if it helps. Thanks.

I liked it, mostly because it reminds me a lot of Killzone 3; classes, post apocalyptic FPS, very short Campaign mode, you have two factions...

But then again, I kinda prefer to play Killzone because it's compatible with the MOVE and because it just attracts me more than Brink. But that's more like a matter of opinion.

I assume that, just like Killzone, Brink is way more fun once you play online and I'll soon find that out.

...Also, Brink gives you Silver and gold trophies galore. But that's just gravy.
