I love the gamecube and never fully understood why people hated it so much. Maybe the name and the system itself just came off as boring. The only thing with the word "cube" in the name that people seem to like is that damn "Companion Cube".

Anyway, games I like include: Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, SSBM, Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2, Star Fox Adventures, Star Fox Assault, Star Wars: Jedi Outcast II (or something like that), Kirby AirRide, DoubleDash, Soul Calibur II (the only good version of the game), Gauntlet Dark Legacy (also only good version with usable inventory), F-Zero GX (damn hard), and a few others I can't remember without looking.

Lot of games for the cube that are WAY better than some of the stuff we get nowadays.

Ok so I notice that more than a lot of people I know bash the Gamecube. The biggest reason for this being that it had no good games. To this I call shinanigans. I freaking loved Smash Bros., Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door, and Wind Waker. I even liked Mario Sunshine and that Starfox game with the dinosaurs. Don't ask me why I liked them but I did. So I wanna know, did anyone like something from the Gamecube?
You, sir, are win.

I've been waiting for someone like you.

Someone who sees the gamecube for the genius invention that it was.

Counting all games you've listed, plus F-Zero GX, Mario kart: Double Dash!! Metroid Prime 1 & 2, Zelda collectors' Edition, Sonic Adventure DX and Adventure 2 Battle and even Pokémon Colosseum.

Gamecube will continue to be a legend in my eyes.

It was my first current-gen console, and it was awesome. Wind Waker, Metroid Prime, Twin Snakes, Tales of Symphonia, Skies of Arcadia (for those of us who didn't have Dreamcasts), Thousand Year Door, Resident Evil 4 (though the Wii remake is better), Melee, and probably a few other things I still need to play were great. Honestly, the fact that that was considered weak and a failure is a testament to Nintendo's quality.

I absolutely loved it, and even though I have a Wii now (or did have a Wii, seeing as I'mn at university now 'n all) most of the time I used it to play my Gamecube games. Well, with the exception of Okami. I played that game Waaaay too much. :D

I love my GameCube and I still play it all the time.

It also had the most comfortable controllers ever.

Hell, I spent larger part of the night listening to shitty music and playing Resident Evil Zero...

Gamecube is good because:
1) Metroid Prime 1 + 2
2) Wind Waker (you could get majora's mask and ocarina of time as well)
3) Mario Kart Double dash
4) Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door
5) Super Smash Bros.
6) Rightful home of Resident Evil 4
7) The discs are small and cool

I don't count anything Mario, because for me it will trigger unnecessary hatred and for everyone else it will trigger blind love. So, none of those.

First up; the controller. I loved that controller and still do in comparison to all else. It was rounded but not a shape that would get sweaty and/or harder to grip over time. It was pristine. It was flat on top so you could get to everything you needed to, and it didn't have that irritating Z-button on the back like the N64. Probably my favourite controller ever.

In terms of games the Gamecube had a much smaller library at first glance; the reality is that the game library was almost the same size as the PS2 and XBox, but that most of them were kiddie games of the worst sort, movie tie-ins or just generally rubbish. Those that stood out, though? They all became friggin' classics that the other two systems had to drool over from afar. (Eternal Darkness is one example). Other games had their best incarnations on the console (Megaman X Command Mission... what? I love that game and you should too).

Now the confession... I still have my Gamecube in a box in my Rec room closet. I haven't pulled it out in a year.

I still do, and just because I can, I'll give you a brief (lol) list of my favorites that I still play:
Jedi Knight 2
Zelda: Wind Waker
NFSU2
007: Agent under Fire and Nightfire
NFS Hot Pursuit 2
SSBM
Metroid Prime
XIII
SSX Tricky
Soul Calibur 2

The one thing I don't understand tho is the hate towards the controller. For me it always felt better than the PS controllers, and when I was younger the XBox controller felt awkwardly large... Dunno, maybe I'm just the right kinda person for it (now I do prefer the XBox controller, with my hands being huge and all xD).

I love it! We hook it up to our common room TV sometimes and play Mario Kart tournaments. Great console and easily transportable.

I loved the PS2, but the Gamecube was great too. The Xbox was the only thing of that generation I did not like. The PS2 had the best games, but the Gamecube had great games making use of all my Nintendo nostalgia. Mario Kart Double Dash, Wind Waker, Metroid Prime, F-Zero GX, and Mario Sunshine. Those were great games.

To be honest, I prefer the Gamecube over the Wii. It has shown that it has pretty good graphics, even better than Wii, and the motion controls just don't work with some games. Twilight Princess is an example of a game that is more fit for the Gamecube. Super Mario Galaxy would probably be more fun too on the Gamecube, the constant waggling with the Wii Remote became a nuisance after a while. And don't get me started on Metroid Prime 3. My God, was the aiming annoying.

I loved the Gamecube, for a while it was my favourite, and I still have the purple one with the original purple controller. It had quite a lot of good games, and one of my favourite Sonic games, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle.

I love my GameCube, it's awesome amazing and years ago it netted me exclusivity as everyone else had a PS2. One of my favourite games on the GameCube is Donkey Kong : Jungle Beat. I would happily put that on anytime and play it from start to finish. At one point I had to since my memory card corrupted and all my save data was wiped, a feeling of both happy and sad. Happy because I had an excuse to play Jungle Beat, sad because most of my other save files were on this one memory card.

One thing that sucked (personal experience here) is that when I got it for my birthday, I was nearly going Nintendo 64 Kid mad. But when I found out that my parents didn't buy any games for it......that sucked.
