Still own a lot of other games I need to get around to playing and I prefer to wait for a year or so for the price to drop when in comes to new releases. I've also been playing a lot of sandbox games lately have been wanting to take a break from them for a while.

However the trailers have made me pretty excited and it's possible I might just splurge and buy a copy. I see how I feel about it in the coming week.

Eh, not interested for me. Never played any GTA game for that matter, they just didn't interest me. I've never really been a fan of "realistic" games. If I'm gonna be playing a game, I'd rather be throwing fireballs, using ninja swords, or making a giant fist out of a bunch of people.

Three requirements:
-On PC?
-Not Always Online?
-Still interested in it after trying Saints Row

(I'm thinking of doing the series over winter break, starting with 2)
Consider yourself warned: Saints Row 2 on PC is one of the worst ports I've ever seen. I strongly recommend getting Gentlemen of the Row [http://idolninja.com/sr2.php], which fixes some of the worst issues.

Thank you for the heads-up. I'll keep that in mind.

Nope, Rockstar quality has been inconsistent in the last few games, loved Vice City, hated San Andreas, GTA 4 was ok, Roman was annoying, Ballad of Gay Tony was one of my favorites, the biker one was meh. I loathed Red Dead Redemption, made it to my worst games of the year list, damn that character was annoying. L.A. Noir I kind of liked, Max Payne 3 was excellent, but just picking up where Remedy left off and they weren't quite able to get to Remedy's level. So I don't expect much from GTA 5. Maybe on a steam sale for five to ten bucks. Also since Rockstar likes to delay the PC version, I delay the purchase till I pay less, if they decide no PC version, then one day a bargain bin purchase, let Gamestop pocket their cash. Just by the number of selfies with dogs copulating in the background flooding Reddit is probably enough for me to decide this game is not for me.

I'm actually waiting to play the PS4 or PC version... so does that count?

To be honest, my past experiences playing GTA has been mixed. Too many times I felt like it was rather constrained. I tend to gravitate towards such open world games like Saints Row, Just Cause and even Crackdown, where there's a real sense of power and mobility. GTA felt a bit too grounded in that regard.

That being said, I do respect what Rockstar has done with the latest game. It's utter stunning with it's production values.

I've tried to like the other GTA games, but they just never did anything for me. Maybe in a few years when it's out for PC and there are some crazy mods I'll pick it up in a Steam sale, but I'm not going out of my way to get it.
