Bob Newheart and Jay Leno.

They're the only two I saw on stage, and I got to meet Bob Newheart backstage once and he was very hospitable.

Otherwise I don't tend to watch comedians or really listen to them. Heck, I don't even watch any of the shows like The Tonight show. If I want comedy I tend to make it up on the spot or watch a really bad horror movie. Like that Day of the Dead that was made in 2008, my dad - who went through military training - remarked how the female soldier called a pistol a gun.

"You never call it a gun. A rifle or a pistol sure, but never a gun." He starts off.

"Why?" I asked.

"Because, 'This is my rifle, this is my gun. This is for fighting and this is for fun.'"

Bill Hicks for he is God.
This^

Also a lot of people ignore Billy Connoly's stand-up. This is a mistake, he has some hilarious anecdotal comedy that I always find enjoyable.

Hm... Stand-up comedy is like a sport to me, it's what I wanna do with my life after i'm done with school, so this is a long list...

Mike Birbiglia(my absolute favorite. I'm modeling my act to be a bit like his.)
Craig Ferguson(2nd favorite, Wee Bit O' Revolution is in my top five acts and I catch the Late Late Show whenever I can. LLS is all improv, too, which astounds me.)
Jim Gaffigan
Daniel Tosh(has maybe the only good comedian-run show that isn't political)
Jeff Dunham(before he got stereotypical beyond all belief)
Jimmy Carr
The Amazing Johnathon
John Caparulo
Dave Chappelle(is sorely missed in the world of comedy... come back Dave!)
John Mulaney
Jon Stewart( The Daily Show is great, but Stewart's Stand up is awesome.)
Zach Galifianakis
Demetri Martin
Kyle Cease
Nick Swardson
Cheech & Chong
Hard n' Phirm
Earl David Reed (Used to be on The Tonight Show if memory serves, he plays a local Radio Station which is where I found him.)
Chris Farley
Stephen Lynch(his old stuff, anyway.)
Russell Brand(I need to want to watch him to watch him, however.)
Simon Pegg( I dunno if he does stand-up, but Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and Spaced are hilarious.)
Patton Oswalt
And I believe thats everyone.

Oh, and, Dylan Moran, he played Gordon in Run Fatboy, Run, correct?

I have been watching The Whitest Kids You Know lately, and think they are freaking hilarious!!
I also like the late great George Carlin. Early Eddie Murphy shows are still fantastic. Bill Cosby is also a wonderful live comedian. I also love Louis C.K..

Jim Jefferies
Steve Hughes
Bill Bailey
Ross Noble (Been mentioned but not enough)

Most others I can think of right now have been said, balls.

I've benn watching a lot of comdeians lately, strange i made this thread isn't it? Anyway, the comedians that i've seen people know the most are Dane Cook, Jeff Dunham, Jo Koy, and Stephen Lynch.

I wanted to know, what are The Escapists' favourite comedians? (by the way, it's a habbit the way i spell favourite)
I enjoy Jeff Dunham, and I think Dane Cool is an ass. Probably my favorite is uh... What's his name? Mitch Hedburg. That was a funny man.

Russell Howard, Dara O'Briain, Frankie Boyle, Michael McIntyre, Stephen K Amos, David Mitchell.

Most of the people that appear on BBC satirical news quizzes basically.

Michael McIntyre, Frankie Boyle, Russell Howard, Dara O'brien, Peter Kay, Jack Dee...

And slightly random question, but do any Americans find British comedians funny?
Sometimes I don't think American comedians are, but that's probably because we live total different lives.

The legend that is Bill Hicks.

"Rick Astley? Have you seen this banal incubus at work? Boy, if this guy isn't heralding Satan's imminent approach to Earth, huh. "Don't ever wanna make you cry, never wanna make you sigh, never gonna break your heart" oh, I wouldn't worry about that without a dick, buddy. You got a corn nut! You got a clit! You're not even a guy! You're an AIDS germ that got off a slide! They're puttin' music to AIDS germs, they're puttin' a drum machine behind them in a metronome beat and Ted Turner's colorizing 'em, God damn it!"

Wonder what he would have thought about Rick Rolling...
