No, Although I should be clear. Light is a bit of a hero in the first half of the series, then he goes crazy thinking he should be god. But in the beginning, he was trying to make the world a better place. That's one reason I really liked the show, you picked a hero.

As Anime heroes from a game technically don't count *coughLloydIrvingcough* and his consquential resulting anime personality is a far cry from his game one that I adored.

This depends a lot on how you define "greatest". If you mean most powerful, it's probably one of those idiots from DBGT. If you mean most heroic... That's probably a toss-up between any number of protagonists with a paladin complex. If, however, you mean most interesting character, that's a damn good way to start a fanboy flame war.

Personally, I'm a fan of Ichigo from Bleach. Then again, I haven't watched too many anime series.
