Trigonometry. 10th grade. God that guy was awful. He didn't even have a Math degree, he had an English one. He couldn't get through a single class without having to redo an example problem because he screwed it up.

The absolute worst part of the whole thing was one time he spent 15 mins covering a topic, then when two questions about it showed up on a test: THE ENTIRE CLASS GOT THEM WRONG. When we brought this up, pointing out that not a single person got either question correct, his response was (and I wish I were making this up): "That just goes to show you guys aren't paying enough attention in class."

To this day, I think I hate trig because him. Calc was fun, though.
That for me is the sign of a truly bad teacher. If they can in one way or another suck the will out of a student to learn the subject (especially in the long term as is in your case), they are not fit to teach in my opinion. They are counterproductive of what any school system attempts to do.

Had a reading class, reading being code for "spent our funding on a fancy new teacher's lounge so stick with these 25 year old books", back in high school constantly populated by 1 semester subs. One temp had us reading about Che Guevara and other commie "heroes" and listening to a South American poet ***** about the white men in a very skewered revision of history that left out how ironic the Spanish conquering indigenous empires, themselves built through conquest and village raping, really was.

In southern California, with half the class wearing Che shirts and yelling "viva la raza" after each poem was played (not realizing that the man hates the spanish language), I felt like I was adrift in a sea of ignorance and spoon-fed ideological bunk.

Worst teacher? Hmm...
I would have to say Mr Lewis, my Year 10 English teacher.
Mr Lewis is a good Drama teacher, but he knows absolutely NOTHING about English. He told us write an essay on a book WE DIDN'T EVEN READ. In addition to that, he is basically a paedophile. He has put his crotch on my shoulder and when I work in the school canteen, he always goes to me to be served.

I think that classifies as a bad teacher.

I took Art for GCSE, and the teacher I had for that...wow. She was constantly going on abut how Art is about expressing yourself and being an individual, yet whenever someone was stuck on ideas for coursework, she would tell them all to do the same topic (in my case, knots), and if one of your drawings didn't meet her vision of what she wanted out of your artwork, she would "correct" it by drawing all over it!!!

She frustrated me

I had a reading class that I was forced to take because of not having a high enough score in the 9th grade FCAT reading (math score was excellent though), and the teacher I had was a horrible *****. She had no real teaching ability, was not good with young people and she was racist as well. There were only 3 non-white kids in this small class of 12 (me and 2 black kids, 1 girl and 1 guy), and every time there was a disturbance in the class or too much talking she would always yell at one of us (there was a lot more things that pointed this out, I am just naming one). She almost got me into big trouble for disruption and talking but didn't bother to understand what was going on. What was my crime? Helping someone who was struggling with a book report assignment that we had to do by talking to him and discussing ideas on how he could do it; because I had helped him, he got an A (but I still almost got in trouble for this). But it's okay, the dumb ***** showed how stupid she really was by actually hitting a kid and got fired immediately (which was awesome).

My old Junior School maths teacher, Mr. Wright.

Why was he bad? He insulted every student he had. Not as in the jokey-insult way teachers can be awesome for, he just generally hated us all with a passion and wasn't ashamed of showing his contempt. He used to just pick out one aspect of us and torture us for it endlessly.

For example, the 'bully' of the class would get insulted relentlessly for apparently being stupid on caveman levels. The most popular girl was ridiculed for being a slut-in-the-making (this girl was in Year 5 at the time!) and me? Well I was the most feminine guy there, so I got called homophobic slurs on an almost-daily basis.

Yeah, I hated his classes.

Then were was Mr. Burke in Secondary School. He had a massive amount of dislike for anyone who wasn't obsessed with sports (he was a P.E teacher) and wasn't afraid to hide it. He openly praised everyone who did well in sporting activities, but people who didn't care about 'real sports' (which in his mind were football, rugby and basketball mainly) were dumb little freaks who weren't going to get anywhere in life.

Then there was Mrs. Jacobs...the Sex Education teacher.

She wasn't BAD, exactly, she just had a sense of humour that really wasn't appropriate. She, like Mr. Wright, picked up on my feminine qualities and repeatedly made references to the fact that I might be gay. That's...not fun, when you're in a class filled with bullies who already hate you. Arming them with that information just wasn't cool.

In Secondary School there were a few.

Ms. Hail was just a cold hard ***** of epic proportions
Mr. Jenkins was a smug asshole who assumed 'if I can do it, there's no reason you can't' without factoring in that we were students and he was a trained professional.

The ultimate epitomy of horrific teachers, however, was Mr. Mere. At least in my opinion he is.

Basically, I had him as an art teacher for all 5 years and he spent that entire 5 years making homophobic slurs against me whenever possible, and encouraging anyone else who did the same.

I fucking hated him...

I should add one more teacher from my school: an English teacher who spent at least half the class time, every single class, telling jokes. It's like he had a new stand-up routine every day. Unfortunately for our education, his humorous ways only endeared him to most of the students and teachers, who, being high school students, would rather sit and listen to a comedy schtick than actually do any learning. He even gave himself his own holiday every year, where he and the students just had a little party in class, and the school was A-OK with it. Didn't help that he just sucked at teaching to begin with when he actually got around to trying to teach once he ran out of jokes for the day. Didn't learn a single thing from him. At least I learned something from the teachers I mentioned before, despite their bad habits. This guy was just BAD.
That sounds a lot like an English teacher that was in my high school but I didn't have myself. Did he ever have this stupid joke where you would say "hey Mr. X" and he would reply "hay is for horses!" and laugh?

Forgot to add mine i had an english teacher who use to cry to the class about her father issues i think my class drove her insane. This isn't a teacher but a principle/headmaster he thought it was a bad thing i played video games and he once bragged to someones parents that he sent his son to school once in his pjs because he got out of bed late.

My old chemistry teacher. She's an ugly ass wrinkle monster who had a crush on me.

She graded each of my papers by how much it made her want my dick.

Averaged a 3.8 in the class!

A woman giving a course at university. Everyone in the class thought she was dementing for at least 10 years. Nothing she said made any sense, was utterly dated and quite often you could convince her of anything.

She had zero clue about answering e-mails and filling out testscores online and caused a lot of trouble by having really no connection at all with modern materials. She didn't play DVD's, she played videos and did not even know how to get that work properly.

Pretty much, she should have retired 15 years ago.

Nope. One of his main gags was to comment on how he didn't give a "rodent's posterior" about this or that thing. He had another catch phrase he used even more often, but for the life of me I can't remember it now.

My Year 4 teacher in primary school - she spent the whole year going on about her divorce and making up stories instead of teaching us.

Then, my Physics teacher at secondary school, a Mr Denny. Massively overdue for retirement and just incapable of controlling a class (of grammar school students who chose physics) by that point.

Then, my university maths lecturers: "Here is a textbook full of maths. Go and learn it. You have tests every week."

French teacher in 10th Grade... Named Mr. Kelly...

He got sooo easily of topic... Now, normally this is good, (I mean, he talks and we get no work right?), but he was so damn BORING!!! And he talked about the stupidest shit!!! On our very first day he started telling us about HIS CAT, a conversation that not only lasted a week, but was repeated 4 times throughout the semester!!!

That, and because last summer while driving around town I saw this 40 year-old, slightly overweight and grotesquely hairy man mowing his lawn IN A SPEEDO...

What's been seen cannot be unseen...

We had a teacher in grade 7(Swedish grade 7) that was not just a poor teacher, he was also touching the girls in class. But he didn't stay long, he went to jail without teeth.
