Who is your favorite anti-hero in gaming ?

Anti-heroes eh? Honorable mention must go to Spawn (let's not forget that he is a demon), but other good examples would have to be the Punisher, Jackie Estacado (the Darkness), pretty much anyone you play as in Unreal, the guy from DOOM (he does use a chainsaw and even his bare hands) and Shepard from Mass Effect (if you happen to be like me and choose every 'evil' answer for giggles).

I've got to say Ethan Thomas, the guy became a serious hard ass after he left the SCU bureau at the end of the first game, but he still manages to do heroic things in his own, brutal, way.

Mine would have to be Albert Wesker from the Resident Evil Series or the G-Man from the Half-Life series.

Anti-hero is not the same as a bad guy.
My favorites are Kain and Raziel along with The Duke.
Guybrush threepwood is By far the best anti hero ever.

Wow. Whoever said Spawn or Kratos, shoot your kneecaps.

And why do you not consider them anti-heroes hm?

Oh I am sure that their creators intended for them to be anti-heroes.

It's just that...they failed. Miserably.

How in gods name did they fail!? They are perfect examples, especially spawn, of anti heroes. You can barely find a more perfect representation of an anti hero than spawn in pop culture.

Marcus Fenix - I guess you could call him an anti-hero to begin with as he was previously rotting in prison and seems ambivalent to things at first.
