Suprised nobody mentioned Wander from Shadow of the Colossus. He goes into the forbidden land and destroys the only things keeping Dormin, the ultimate evil, sealed away. All for the sake of resurrecting his girlfriend.

Surprisingly nobodies mentioned Kain from the Nosgoth games.

My votes are Kain & Raziel (not gay), Riddick and the 47s (both bald and robotic).

How about Nobunaga Oda (& Cao Pi/Cao Cao) in the Warriors Orochi storyline?

They have to put aside their own personal ambitions & desires of conquest to fight against Orochi in a rebellion with strangers & former foes.

I don't want to offend anybody but do you know what antihero means?
"A protagonist who lacks the characteristics that would make him a hero or her a heroine"
that means that he doesn't risk his life for others , or to help others , showing them the good path if they're in his way... so not even half the guys you mentioned here are good to be voted , but at least the next guys who post try to think about how he acts and what he does

Dante from the Devil May Cry series.
Meh, Dante's good and all, but he's a bit of a dick. I got the impression (during Devil May Cry 3) That the only reason he was going after Virgil to begin with was because Virgil's lackeys ruined his shop.

I prefer Virgil, myself. The way his characher develops is very interesting to me.

Also, he plays better.

I have a tendancy to read too much into things, but I think the point of Devil May Cry 3 (yes, it's the only one I played) is to ask a question (Is attaning power just for the sake of having power evil?) and answer it (yes).

Apologies Abound. I think too much for my own damn good sometimes...

Surely the fact that Dante only gets involved following the destruction of his shop earns him the label of anti-hero, since he acts purely out of his own interests. The title is all the more fitting when, as you say, he acts like a 'bit of a dick' in the process.
