pffft, Jedi. Darth Maul is the best thing to ever hold a lightsaber.
Agreed. He may have been cut in half, but even that didn't kill him. 'Course, he did get his ass kicked again by the same guy however many years later, but still.

As for jedi, sign me up for Mace Windu. Sam Jackson or no, he's still one of the best swordsmen the jedi ever had. Hell, he only died by a cheap shot from Anakin after kicking Sidius' ass all over the place.
Two questions. How is it that he didnt die, and when did him and Obi-wan fight again?

I do agree 100% about Mace Windu. Samuel L. Jackson wasnt the only reason Windu was great. He was the head of the council on top of everything you said. But Jackson is extremely cool.

Conceptually Kriea, she is the only one I know of to actually realize what was going on and try and make a differance, and give the universe true freedom from the Force.

Otherwise I'd have to go with Obi-Wan. Understand that he beat Vader, Greivous, Darth Maul, etc... even with the universe kind of against him.

I don't think Anakin was really ever defined as being "the strongest" even as Vader, it's simply that he existed to create an era of chaos between the cycle of good (The Republic's rule) and the new coming cycle of Darkness. Thus he kind of had the universe looking out for his survival.

Generally speaking I think Obi-Wan beat him largely so he would become an even bigger jerk. It's kind of what the universe needed.

Of course, I still consider the whole prequel trilogy to be poorly written drek. At the time when it happened Anakin was not so far gone that I could really buy him becoming a child murderer.

In the Star Wars: Visionaries comic books, him and Obi-wan fight on Tatooine at Luke's home 3 or so years after RoTS. As to how he didn't die, in the comics he has a shiny new pair of droid legs. A little weak, I know, but he's cool enough for me to ignore it.

i go with the outcast/exile from KOTOR 2, Kyle Katarn and Mara Jade(Skywalker). I guess i have a soft spot for characters that suffered some hard knocks :)

You, know, I've noticed something, and I've mentioned this to my friends before and they tink Im right. It seems like Geoorge Lucas has a cyborg fetish. Anakin/Vader had body parts replaced with robotic parts twice. Luke had his hand replaced, half of Malak's face was mechanical, and from what I can gather, General Grievous is a human who has had however many surgeries (kinda like Michael Jackson) to have almost all of himself replaced with droid parts and machinery. And now I find out that Darth Maul is all Cyborgy, too. Geez, find some other way to disfigure characters. I know, clone superhuman body parts to attach to an injured person, that would work.

Jar jar, he was awesome in Star Wars 1: The Phantom Midget. I blame you fan boys (you're out there, I can smell you!) for insisting on him being lame in the rest of the movies.

And don't argue that Jar Jar isn't a Jedi, R2D2 is one too, but everyone knew that.

That would be cool. I once imagined a movie about the discovery of the Force, the first living thing to ever have Force Powers. In this movie, a man realizes one day that he can do things noone else can. In disbelief, he explores his abilities, meditates to discover the true meaning of the force, and refines his powers. He writes of his findings and searches for others like him. After decades of this, he is now teaching several people about the force. Together, they discover more and more things like new powers and they become aware that the Force is a living, conscious entity that is omniscient. Two of his more advanced pupils who are close friends realize that they can gain power among the people of the world using their abilities. They leave the group of people learning under the first Force user and the two take in their own students. Years down the road, the first of the Sith have taken on a great deal of pupils and their power is great. A great war erupts, leaving only the first jedi, four or five of his students, one of the first two Sith and their greatest pupil still alive. The two remaining Sith flee to a far off place and the remaining Jedi form the Jedi council with the purpose of protecting the people from the Sith forver. Pretty good, huh?
