Actually, My favorite DC hero is Superboy:idodo35 said:whats wrong with deadpool? i myself am more of a DC fan myself but doing a "what is your favorate DC super hero/villian" will just resolt with a page full of pictures of batman and joker... (mine is a tie between hall jordan the first green lantern and kyle rainer the latest one...)
The problem with Deadpool is that many comics fans feel that he's over-exposed (much like Wolverine) and that Marvel is just churning out so many series for the sweet cash-money. At one point there was like Deadpool, Deadpool Merc with the Mouth, Deadpool Corps, Deadpool Teamup and possibly some more.idodo35 said:whats wrong with deadpool?
Okay, fair enough, but I still don't get why you dislike Deadpool. Do you mean that he feels like they just took whatever nerds like and put it together hoping it'd work? And it'd be great if you could explain this "pandered" thing (preferably without giving away too much of the story).ace_of_something said:I was being facetious. My bad. It's often times difficult to come across as such on the internets.Queen Michael said:Eh? Since when is Deadpool part robot? I've read the first eighteen issues of his first comic book and the entire Cable & Deadpool and never seen this mentioned ever.ace_of_something said:Deadpool is lame because he's basically become the product of this type of reasoning: 'what do nerds like?'
"ninjas? robots? Firefly?"
"Okay he has ninja powers, part robot and is snarky"
And I hate being 'pandered' to. That's really what reading his comics feel like. A lot of people that don't read any comics at all (or next to nothing) instantly say he's their favorite.
He's also a hold over from the 'Dark Age' which many comic readers would be glad to get rid of.
Also, what Deadpool comics have you read? What I mean is: What writer? (Sorry for double-posting, but I wanted to make sure you got this question)ace_of_something said:Deadpool is lame because he's basically become the product of this type of reasoning: 'what do nerds like?'

It's kind of like Hipsters and obscure music. Some comic fan get upset when someone likes Deadpool, "because they knew about him first" and "the old stuff is way better". That or some get annoyed by the bulk of Deadpool comics, while their own favourite stuff gets canceled or put on hiatus. When someone posts Deadpool it hits a nerve with these people.idodo35 said:so? were talking about the hero as a hero not the corect version...
