Dr Leonard H. "Bones" McCoy. Always has been, always will be. (RIP DeForest Kelley)
His original nickname is Bones? I didn't know that! His german name is "Pille" (german for pill(duh!)). The more you know..

I was randomly watching TV until I decided to give Star Trek a change to see if I liked it or not. I became a fan after seeing a hilarious episode starring Data. He is such a loveable character.

For the sake of things I might as well throw in my favouite Captain.

In centuries gone by a nickname for a doctor was "old sawbones", for obvious, if slightly gruesome, reasons. This ended up being shortened to just "bones" and they used it for the character of McCoy. Maybe this didn't translate into German very well!

You know I'm not a massive trecky and I've probably only seen not even half the episodes.
Never the less;

Star Trek - Bones and Checkove (sp?)
Star Trek : TNG - Data and Q
Star Trek : Voyager - Tom Paris and Harry Kimm
Star Trek : DS9 - Warf (for the bad assery) and Quark (for the lulz)
Star Trek Re-boot : Gotta be Bones again.

Yrah...I'm indecisive :eek:p

Tough call. I really like Scotty but Bones... Got to go with McCoy.

That's overall.

Favorite Captain? Classic Kirk vs. Picard conflict there.

Got to love The Doctor though. He was the best part of Voyager.

Well, Jean Luc Picard is the greates-AU CONTRAIRE!
I may be somewhat biased by certain recent events. Do I care?
Hmmm, I wonder what the "recent event" could be...
Man, you're gonna make me choose? But Star Trek has so many excellent characters! I'm afraid I'm going to have to cheat a bit and name a few of my favorites.

Picard definitely ranks up there simply because of how awesome of an actor Patrick Stewart is. Data is also one of my favorites. His straightforward, analytical approach can often lead to thought-provoking insight about human behavior:

As for "antagonists," Q definitely wins. John De Lancie is a brilliant actor:

I have a question about Geordi that I still don't get... he's blind and they made him that thing that lets him see all kinds of cool crap. There was no way they could just fix his eyes? They have warp drive and they make the black man wear headgear :p
They actually address it a few times, and in some alternate and forward universe they did. But if I remember correctly regular star trek universe, he is so use to the visor, he doesn't want to fix his eyes.

The correct answer is Ben Sisko.
Damn. Ninja'd and the thread isn't even long yet. Sisko was kick ass.
High five, fellow niner. If only more people had watched DS9.
+1 It warms my heart to see the Sisko love.
Yay! Benjamin Sisko! He was brilliant, especially considering some of the pressure he was under.
Plus, he punched Q! Surely he should get some kind of award for that.

Gonna have to go with the number one captain.

No, not the captain's "Number One".

Oh, forget it, Picard.

Or Garak as he is better known. He is the definition of mysterious which makes him really interesting.

I'm probably gonna get some heat for this, but my favorite character is Captain Archer.
