I can't get enough of the uber heavy riffs of Rage Against The Machine, Korn, Slipknot, Alter Bridge, and Killswitch Engage, and then there's the orgasmic melodies of Dream Theater and Liquid Tension Experiment, Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert, Joe Satriani, and all those guys.

But fuck Nickelback. It's a scientifically proven fact that every time someone plays Nickelback another Panda dies.

I be a fan of metal. It's nice and loud. Mostly... thrash, death, black, pro.... okay almost everything. Less most numetal and core.

Though, some likeminded people may be interested in hearing a metalcore band thats GOOD (obviously in my opinion). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmg3jr7Bhfo Revocation, very shiny and fun.

I think it's important to listen to more then one genre, but 70% of the music I own is still metals. I can't help it, so many tasty subgenres.

EDIT: Doom metal is nice. I am listening to much lately. Sure they're all Sabbath rip offs, but you can't have enough Sabbath.
Electric Wizard, Sleep, Candlemass, Witchfinder General, and Mournful Congregation are my favorites.

Black metal (especially Euro) and "older" metal, sure. I like some death metal and a handful of bands that don't necessarily fit in those other genres (Hanzel und Gretyl, Mastodon, Static-X, et al).
