I have this problem. Mine always ending looking like they've had a botox overdose pretty much no matter what I do though. But, that could be something the Med-Bay upgrade should have done.

I second that, it really is great.

As for Shepard, it all comes down to the fact Unreal Engine faces mostly look like someone rubbed a cheese grater across some old leather and plasticine.
So that's how they do it... I wondered how they came up with that exact complexion. Consider me informed.

Now we know why Marcus is so grumpy all the time, he's made of plasticine.

Hehe! Yep that'll do it. That and the 50 pounds of armor those dudes are forced to wear everywhere. Shit looks truly uncomfortable. Those boots alone must weigh ten pounds apiece.

Fuck, look what you made me do. Thread derailed... must turn this around.
Ahem, now if you could create characters in Gears, that would be awesome. There, that's better.

I do this with RPs (mainly on this site) to a fault, in that i will see a game, think 'I have the perfect character for this!', and only after I've been accepted will I realize I'm not to keen on the premise of the game

It starts out a little slow, but once you get into it, it is hard to stop playing.
Thaaaaat's ma problem ;-)
Hmmmm. Well, that is a problem. I always start with the Gray Fox quests first. Gets me right into the game. So mysterious. And, actually I think you would like how they play out. The end of the quest is quite sweet actually. They aren't too hard to do. But I understand, won't harass you about it anymore. :)

I will get round to it, maybe after FFXIII and DA Awakenings :) Of course I will be stuck at the character create page for 3 days, but I'll do it.

I made so many damn Shepards....

I really wish you could do a second edit after the intro sequence, you never really know what your char looks like until you've seen him in a few cutscenes.
That would be such a useful tool, I have scrapped more Shepards than I care to calculate and it sucks that you can't really see them til you talk to people (Pressly is a good one to check Shepard with as soon as you get control of Shepard)

Yeah, no kidding. I have the hardest time picking a race and class in Oblivion. So many choices! And no matter what I pick, I always end up sneaking in a corner for 6 hours and jumping for 3. I try not to think about what the NPCs think of my character as it spastically jumps outside their window for hours on end.

It's not so bad in ME1, but in the second one you have to sit through the entire unskibbable intro, along with all it's cutscenes. There's no save point so if you aren't happy with your Shepard it's all the way back to the beginning...

I KNOW!!!! I made a Shepard the other night I was really happy with but my husband had distracted me at the storage device choice and for some reason best known to myself I backed out of it rather than confirming :S The good thing is though, I ended up working out the 'formula', for an attractive Shepard (which of the pre sets to start with, etc.) :) And for some reason in ME2 the only way to make a pretty Shepard is to put loads of make up on her WTF?

HA!

One must never be disturbed at the character creation screen, the mistakes will be apparent for the next 40 or so hours!

My next playthrough I'm going fem-Shep, and I imagine it will be quite the challenge making her a pretty little thing like Rachel The Explorer, my Fallout 3 female char.

Rachel The Explorer! ROFL, is that her given name? My husband does not understand good gaming etiquette unfortunately, for example when someone is playing Shadow Hearts DO NOT stand in front of the TV when they judgement ring is spinning (the list is endless, his crimes are many *sighs and cries little gamer tears*)

Lol, at least he doesn't ***** at you for being a nerdy gamer... I had an ex (long gone now) who hated me gaming, despite happily sitting watching soaps for 4 hours a night...

Yeah, Rachel the Explorer is her self appointed title as queen of the Wasteland!

Think it's time we formed Character Creation Addicts Anonymous here?

I'd say City of Heroes has my favourite character editor to date. It was always fun to see what other players would come up with too, like a fire-scrapper in a tutu called Pyroette...wonder if I should give Champions a go.

I managed to make an Oblivion character look like me to the extent it was creepy. Except for the perma-red nose. How come my characters always end up looking either jaundice or alcoholic?!

hee hee! I'm sorry to break in here, but I had to tell you I laughed out loud at this. That Judgment ring is serious business. Had a similar problem with the end of God of War II. There's this long unskippable cutscene then a whole bunch of random button presses. I must have watched that damn cut scene with Zeus like twenty times before I finally got to what was the last random button press, and guess who walks in front of the screen just then? Oh the humanity!!! And he knows better! I think he was just jealous I beat the game first. A little bit of gamer revenge if you will.

Urgh, I hate soaps with a passion, as much as I love gaming that's how much I hate soaps! Why do people who will happily sit in front of the TV all night think that is an acceptable pastime and gaming isn't? At least we aren't being drip fed our entertainment, you are well rid of that one, far better off with your lovely 'enabler'! ;-)
Queen of the Wasteland too, my she sounds impressive..

You played DDO yet? A good year's worth of character creation and general stat-wanking guaranteed (the games pretty good too).
