I still watch it. It feels more or less the same. An above average show that informs me while removing time from my day.
Yeah. That's exactly how I'd describe it, not to mention I actually read Penny Arcade in the first place.

Still watch when they come out, although the shows that have come out since leaving have been... slightly substandard?

Probably a coincience though.

I put this thread here because EC is about games. Place this thread wherever you wish Mod Overlords.

Anyhow, I'm wondering who here on the Escapist still watches EC even after it left, and still after it left Youtube.

If you do, does it still carry the same effect?

I still watch it. For me the effect has gone down a little only because it isn't found on a gaming centric site anymore. It isn't quite as empowering. Penny Arcade is a gaming site, but the Escapist is entirely centered around discussing about games etc. You know what I mean.
It's still the same old EC to me :p
I think that it was amazing how they still managed to produce the weekly episode during the whole debacle of moving, and very pleased the level of quality hasn't suffered from the change.
Go EC :)

I could never just get over the chipmunk that had been kicked in the testicles voice.

It's a shame because people say how good EC was/is and I could never get into it.

Still watch it. I think it's a great show, and props to Tycho and Gabe for picking it up. As has been said already, I read PA every day anyway so it's not like it's out of my way to watch EC while I'm there.

I joined this site only for Extra Credits... so yeah, I still watch them. Subscribed on their youtube account, so I get a notification and go to the other site.

The Escapist lost a big part of what made it great. Yes, there are other great things here, but EC was one of the bigger. IMO, the best thing on Escapist.

I don't know who's fault it is, nor do I really care. I'm just sorry that they got separated.

Just watched an episode.
I just realised what I really hate about it. They always seem to act like if the game industry does whatever they say the world will be saved and everything will be happy and good. It annoys me.
Kinda like Jimquisition only without the irony
Not really, Jimquisition (the character) is self righteous to the point of parody, believing his every word to be sacresanct.
EC (Floyd I guess since he's the voice) makes it clear that they (he) offer their views. Of course they're going to think that those views will improve things, you'd have to be mentally deficient to hold an opinion when you think it's wrong. They don't go over the top, they don't preach. They talk, they impart facts and opinions alongside eachother and trust in the ability of the listener to discern the two when they don't bother to spell it out every time (and let's be fair, they clause a LOT of what they say to avoid this issue).

But eh, holding an opinion is a terrible crime, yessiree, more so sharing it, I mean who does that?

I still watch it, don't particularly care where it goes, so long as the quality keeps up I'll be a viewing it, even if I had some beef with their actions (and I don't) they won't gain much from my viewing while I gain a lot from their highly considered views. So, win for me, even if they just churn them out on Youtube. So long as they stay good, I stay watching (erm, listening?)

I didn't really like it that much in the first place, so I don't think I'll follow it to Penny Arcade.

She's still in recovery from the shoulder surgery, it was a pretty major operation so it's not worth causing any undue strain until it has fully healed up. So in the meantime we're still on guest artists.

If there has been any drop in quality (which I don't think there has been), I think we can put it down to the issues they've been suffering through, what with Alison's shoulder, their trouble with the Escapist, starting their indie games fund and finding a new home.

I go to Penny Arcade anyways, and even if I didn't I'd still go there to watch it. I don't get the attitudes of people who'll swear of a show because it's now on a site they don't care for, or because several months worth of issues have bled into their work.

Here's hoping there'll be more good things to come of them, and that both they and the Escapist continue to prosper.

I can't be bothered to watch it anymore to be honest. It was a nice extra whilst it was here, but not one of the reasons I visit this site.
