Dude's a douche who was looking for an out in the first place.
I don't know about that. After he was told by the majority of his friends that what he did was a total dick-move he started texting her the whole time to apologise and stuff. Also last saturday he and she were at this party and he tried to get her to talk with him. Of course she told him he could piss off.

My ex when we went to our Year 13 leavers ball (I think this is the same as Senior Prom) I went upstairs to go to the toilet or something (I can't remember the specifics but for some reason I wasn't near her for about 5 minutes). I came downstairs and she wasn't there.

I looked all around the house but couldn't find her. She didn't bring her phone so I couldn't call her and eventually I thought fuck this and began walking to the next street where I was going to a pre-ball party with a couple of friends. I found her half way there, apparently she'd gotten bored and began walking. I don't mean in the sense that I'd been holding her up for an hour or anything and she'd gotten frustrated (I hadn't delayed at all!). No, she had gotten bored because there was no stimulus for 15 seconds so she?d wondered off. She was very weird, and often acted very immature ? what had originally attracted me to her (her kookiness) had actually come back to haunt me.

Surprisingly this wasn?t the first time, nor the last time something childish like this had happened and I look back now and think 'what the hell was I thinking?'

Honestly, the girl likes jerks. I doubt this is the first sign of douchery that he has exhibited and apparently this works for her to some degree.

It's good things didn't work out because the only thing that that relationship would have brought would have been gashes and lumps.

Other question... why do you care this intently?

Sounds like he was having some personal problems, either with himself or someone there.

I don't know though, I have done something like that before.

This guy ruined what could have been an awesome night for himself and her. Fucking Idiot.

Well the guy is indeed quite a jerk in my eyes, and that's probably the insane, twisted trait that attracted her to him.

As to you question: Because I'm a caring person. And eventhough I could have seen it coming from miles away that eventually something was going to screw this relationship up I still don't think anyone deserves this happening to them.

So yeah either caring or too involved with people's problems. I'm planning on studying psych so it won't work out too bad I'm sure.

I hate proms and class dances. I skipped out on my Junior Prom, and the only reason I went to my Senior Prom was because my mom refused to shut up about it. The way she went on, you'd think it was my goddamn wedding. God, I hated that damned night!

Either that guy felt the same way about proms and was looking for a way out, or he's a grade-A *****. My guess is the latter, because despite how much I hate proms and the like, I still tried make sure that my date was happy.

Tell her a little two cents I told myself all the time.
If someone made her feel as good as that guy did, whoever is her true love will be making her feel a ton times better.
Don't let it bug her. Sides, the guy is obviously an ass and doesn't deserve your friend. Jock, I assume?

Your answer was right there. He's a teenager. Unstable, overly emotional and immature.

Eventually, he'll look back on his teenage days and wonder why he was such an utter pillock. Everyone should. It's natural.

Those that look back with excessive fondness at their teenage days are the ones you have to wonder about.

He sounds mental. Seriously, i'm not kidding. Like some sort of mental condition. Like wow, If I did that to mine I'd be killed. Why would I do something like that? You ask a good question.

man i miss how easy life was as a teenager. Shame on him if this is the first time he's done something like that. Shame on her if it isn't. Either way, better that she stay away from him.

Well he's not in any school sports team that I know of (we go to different schools) but he's one of those slick types. Smoker, wettened (is that a word?) hair styled to the back, wears the collars on his shirts up. That's about it appearance wise. I don't really talk to him much.
He's quite the violent type though, almost always spoiling for a fight if "one of his friends is in trouble".

He's an idiot, nothing more.

Sadly there are people like him walking the earth, looking for people to annoy.

so, wait, she wasn't ready by the time he got there even after he was delayed? Am i the only one who sort of sees sense here? i mean maybe he didn't want to be later to the prom than he was already. admittedly this is an overreaction, but i see his point

. Now she took hours to get ready, and so help me whatever deity you favour she looked beuatiful.
How beautiful exactly, because if she's really purdy, I'd suggest you give it a shot.
And to not sound totally shallow, I presume she's nice too, since you are friends.
