You never forget your first Doctor. My first episode was The Horror of Fang Rock with Tom Baker. I was a little kid at the time and it was scary but awesome. I've seen just about every episode of every Doctor since then, except for the ones the BBC destroyed many years ago.

The first one I saw was A Christmas Carol with Matt SMith. I was immediately hooked. I went back and watched every episode and special from 2005 to present. I've become a little obsessed with the ahow.

I caught Christoper Eccleston one day while channel surfing on the SiFi channel during a Doctor who marathon. I saw the Whole first season in one go but what caught my eye first is the episode The Empty Child, its was just so weird, this little boy in a gas mask going around asking for his mom, and when the doctor in the hospital sprouted a gas mask i was like WTF and had to see more. I was hooked on Doctor Who from that day forward.

It had Cybermen in it, I know that much. Couldn't tell you which doctor, though.

Never really watched it until Eccleston started. Now I'm hooked, but don't have the time to trawl through all the older episodes.

Christopher Eccleston, The Empty Child. Although the episode I watched after that was the New Earth with Tennant, and I went from there.

I knew 'of' the Doctor previously but the first Doctor I really knew was the 9th, then I freaked out when he changed to the 10th but it only took me an episode to fall back in love, then I stopped watching when I found out he was going to change before the episode showed.
Then I saw the episode with the Darleks and Churchill and thought wow, I'd better get back into this. Nothing like Darleks to get me re interested.

Eccleston as the 9th Doctor in Rose.

Although I believe I saw the old 'Dalek Invasion Earth 2150AD' first but didn't know at the time what it was and just thought it was a cool old movie with murderous pepper pots on wheels.
Rose is the first episode with him in it, right? That's where I started, too.

My first memory of Dr Who was watching a Tom Baker episode with my dad way back when I was like 10. I don't know what episode it was or the plot, all I remember is someone had captured the Doctor and was about to carve open his head (I think while he was alive) in order to study it or something. I remember him strapped to a chair and someone putting incision marks on his head before they began. Don't remember how he got out of it either.

It's a hard one this, if only because I think it's my earliest memory, just before getting Pokemon Blue. Anyway, point being, I don't actually know. I remember Daleks, of many colours. A red one is pushed down a pit of some kind. There's these wooden buildings, and trees all around them. It's probably in a quarry. Which Doctor/Episode/Film is this? Damned if I know, but I'm certain it was my first.

Later (much, much later) on in life, I managed to catch the final episode of Eccleston's Doctor as it played out on TV. I was kinda amazed by it all, although that was partially by the absurd body count that episode has. I've pretty much seen every one ever since then.

The first one in which I actually knew what I was watching, David Tennant, the 10th Doctor.
Space (Canadian Sci-Fi channel) was showing a marathon of the Doctor Who Specials, and after hearing so much about Doctor Who I figured I should sit down and watch it to see what all the fuss was about.

The very first episode. All of the ones that still existed were shown on ABC a couple years back.

I'm not quite that old so it must have been a repeat, but it was Pertwee in The Green Death the one with the maggots. It was close to the end of Pertwee's run as the third Doctor, and the last episode with Jo Grant as companion. I liked Dr Who but didn't love it until I saw Robot, then I was hooked.
I was about to say the exact same thing! Green Death was my first episode. I can still picture the maggots and the coal mine.

A few episodes later came the Planet of the Spiders (where they leapt on to people's backs). For months I refused to take a piss standing up for fear of a spider leaping on me while my back was turned.
