If thread's been done before, sorry but as I always say in my posts I searched.

Who were you named after (am talking about your first name here) and why were you named after him or her.

I was named after my grandad from my dad's side of the family his name was James so they called me Jamie. I was named in his honor as he died about a week before I was born.

So who were you named after.

Examples:

Uncle:
Aunt:
Grandparent:
Other relative:
A close friend of the family.
No one my parents just called me (said name) because they felt like it.

I was named after Jonathan from the Bible, who was Saul's son and best friend to David.

I don't think I was named after anyone in particular, but my middle name is from a great grandfather on my mom's side, I think.

dunno bout my first name, but my middle name (David) is given to every eldest son in each generation of our family, after a man named David who was KIA in the First World War.

After a setting on a hair drier.... I'm just kidding, I was named after the guy my mum was secretly having an affair with at the time of my birth, turns out he was not my real father.. my father was my real father... I feel lied to after all these years.
