My first name was randomly picked out of a book of baby names by my dad and my godfather when they were drunk. My middle name comes from my great grandfather, who I think was in the mafia.

Well, my middle name is my dad's name. and my little brother's middle name is luke (maybe because he was born about the same time as star wars episode 1). and my brother's middle names are after my grandfather and uncle , Jack and Edward respectively.

dunno bout my first name, but my middle name (David) is given to every eldest son in each generation of our family, after a man named David who was KIA in the First World War.
How poetic that this was your 1919th post.

I have the same name as my dad, who has the same name as his dad, whose name is a combination of both his grandfather's name and someone else's name.

I just got a good strong, german name... (I don't like it that much, would like a cooler one). Well, my father named me after his best old friend, but he said he liked the name anyway.

And i would have liked some middle name or something... i am the only one in my family with just one name. My father has even three.

Either my mom's grand-pa or the prophet Elijah from the Bible, no one has told me which and neither do I care.

My great-grandfather.

Steindór (the christian version of Steinþór, which is another name for Mjölnir, the hammer of Thor, so my name means "weapon/instrument of god" - and yes, a lot of Icelandic names that aren't biblical have a meaning, my dad's name means "leader of great army").

I'm told I was named for James the apostle. I got my nickname from a cutesy slang term for masturbation my dad.

I was named after an ancient land founded by a descendant of a man mentioned in the Old Testament. My father was going through a phase... or so I hear.
