Almost all the time people talk about their favorite heroes and discuss which one is their fav and who would win in a fight or how they made the game so great.

BUT i almost never hear people discussing literally one of the most important aspects of a game, The villain!

So lets hear about some of your favorite villains and why they are your faves! i'll start in some random order since i can never choose which are my actual fav villains.

1.Skull Kid/Majora's mask (Zelda Majora's mask)

This guy personally is what made the game great for me all those years ago when i played Majora's mask. He was the first villain to truly creep me out and scare me. His changing of Link at the beginning and creepy laugh puts him down as one of the most memorable villains ever.

And not too mention the fact that he is one of the few Zelda villains that isn't Ganon (which still irritates me since i'm tired of seeing him)

2.Kefka (Final Fantasy 6)

The first(and only) Final Fantasy Villain to actually destroy the world! His terrible acts and laughter made him far more disturbing and evil to me then any other Final Fantasy Villain. Not to mention the fact that near the end he almost literally became a god.

And the symbolism in his final fight is as disturbing as it is awesome!

3.Arthas aka the Lich King

I LOVE this guy. I remember watching watching his descent into madness and evil in Warcraft 3 and to finally watch him murder his own father. But that is only the tip of this tale for when i began playing WoW when the second expansion came out and eventually clawing my way up to fight him after after months of leveling and grinding.

Watching him die in the hands of his father is probably one of my most memorable video game moments. He's probably one of my fave villains just because of how much time i spent fighting with/against him and watching his whole story unfold.

OKAY...your guys turn to tell me about your favorite villains!

Lucifer, just plain Lucifer in pretty much every incarceration of him. From Paradise Lost, to Sandman, to Tenacious D, to Supernatural.

Baron Dante from Croc/Croc 2 because to this day I have no idea what his motives are (general mischief spreading?) But somehow enlarging a bunch of animals warrented his death (twice) in the first game. And also because after all that, he managed to get resurected for Croc 2. Also also, I have no idea what he is.

Jafar from Aladdin is my favorite Disney Villain
Sinestro and Moriarty are some of my favorite literary villains
Bowser is my favorite video game villain.

I generally like villains more. I find they usually make more interesting characters.

I also love the song Club Villain by Yourfavoritemartian

Does it HAVE to be a game? Because i'd like to say Jafar... (but hey, he's been in games too)

The best video game villian? You know, Jack of blades comes to mind from the first fable. Its been awhile, but I remember him being very mysterious and the final fight being very satisfactory.

Also the reapers....

In Paradise Lost he is by far one of the more interesting characters ever made.

And if done well i think he has the best potential to be THE most terrifying Villain ever.

it's pretty sad how rarely he's done will in stuff. (i can think of A webcomic and a few books that did him well...but that's about it)

In games? M. Bison. The guy has class. He dresses sharp, has Mike Tyson on his payroll, and hypnotizes chicks into doing really messed up stuff. Also, PSYCHO CRUSHA!

In any media? Carnage from Marvel comics. He just straight up gives no fucks.

Well, just restricting myself to games,

Ganon from Wind Waker. Specifically, what clinched it was the scene right at the end where he's given a tragic and sympathetic backstory right before completely brutalizing Link. I like it when writers remember that villains can be sympathetic and still be complete monsters.

Albedo from Xenosaga. Take everything I said above about being both sympathetic and a complete monster, and kick it up to 11. I hated this guy, then I saw how he got to where he was. I still wanted to kill him, but I didn't know whether it was because I hated him, or simply to put him out of his misery.

Can't think of any more right now. I may post again with more.

Games: GLaDOS. She was proof that a game doesn't NEED a good story to make you emotionally involved and, more importantly, emotionally moved.

Not Games: Voldemort. He iz badasss.

Haven't beaten yet, but Ghirahim from Skyward Sword is becoming one of my new favorites. He nails the creepy, offbeat villain style.

Also, you pretty much said all I had to say about Kefka and Skull Kid, so I'll just leave it at that.

I would have to say the Master from Fallout. He is a great villain what he is doing he really thinks is right and if you prove it isn't he gives up and stops what he is doing.

John Henry Eden from Fallout3.

I mean, he isn't the most menacing of villains, and he may be a computer, but there's just something chilling about how sincere his motives sounds, and how easy it would be for there to really be someone like him.

GLaDOS: What other villain makes you smile? Her sarcastic quips are perfect, and makes you like her, even as she's tossing you into the fire.

GlaDOS: Remember when the platform was sliding into the fire pit and I said "Goodbye" and you were like
GlaDOS: [in a deep male voice] "No way!"
GlaDOS: [normal voice] And then I was all "We pretended we were going to murder you?" That was great!
Kerrigan: Queen ***** of the Universe. Her flippant attitude while she crushes the Heros of the galaxy beneath her heals is awesome.

Harry Flynn: He betrayed his best friend, on multiple occasions tried to kill his best friend, he works for an evil russian terrorist, and his personality is just so awesome and witty.
Eddy Raja: you don't mess with him and also he has a giant golden pistol.
King RAAM: he has his own custom LMG and he controls a swarm of man-eating bats...two things any self-respecting villain would be proud of. He also killed Lt. Minh young kim.

Leon: The Professional.

Gary Oldman played Stansfield, a corrupt DEA agent. And he was fucking phenominal in it. One of those things where he was a bad guy just to be a bad guy, and it worked out perfectly.

Favorite line ever

Edit: Oh... it has to be a game.

Um... Ares from God of War was pretty cool I guess.

Same here, his personality is a welcome change since he act like a spoil brat and while he isn't muscular like Ganondorf but his teleportation and speed is superior (he sneak up on Link like three times already). Oh and also he is just plain creepy like his long tongue.

Dr Octopus from Marvel Universe.
He is such a great guy, on the edge of insane with his science experiment and optimal working speed with his many arms. I gleed with joy when I found out he was in Spider Man 2.
Only misunderstood, just like the poor Joker, which gets a close second.

The super ones. Why?
PRESENTATION! :D
In all seriousness i really have no idea who i'd choose. Anime villains aren't really villains half the time, they're just "misunderstood" in some sense or another and the real villains are only douchebags.

So... The Riddler. Yeah, let's go with the Riddler.
