Let me clarify seeing as it seems difficult to understand:
Threads are for discussion, the topic is decided by the Original Poster.
They decide what they want to ask/discuss.
Anything that is not relevant to the question is off-topic.
Anything that does nothing but debase the topic is trolling.
So by going into a thread asking "who would you be?", a hypothetical question that is just for fun and answering "nobody and don't assume I want to" is trolling because:
1: If you knew you had nothing to contribute prior to looking at the thread then there is no reason to post.
2: It doesn't answer the question, as anyone who wouldn't want to imagine themselves as an anime character has not been asked anything to answer, and again, has no reason to post.
3: It drags it off-topic as the OP then has to start trying to defend their topic against someone who has no reason to even be there.
It would be like me going into a thread asking "What's your favourite PS3 game?" and answering "None, I don't have one. Why would you assume that everyone does?".
Yes, the person has the right to an opinion, but dragging it off-topic and trolling is not welcomed on The Escapist.
I am going to go with something old school, Raoh. I chose him for 2 reasons: First, he can subconciously evade and counter attacks. Second, he has cool theme music. (Not to mention a cool hat.)

I don't like anime, but in the spirit of the thread, I'd say I would want to be Road Runner from Looney Toons, come on, everything ALWAYS goes his way, plus, he's super fast. The only downside I can see is his incredible arrogance, you notice that every time Wile E. Coyote fails, Road Runner is always there to rub it in his face?
