Not a huge fan of Wheatley. He sounds like Tony Harrison from the Might Boosh (youtube if you don't know).
Don't worry. The voice actor is a place holder, he's one of the animators at Valve. They've already got a profession voice actor since then.
it is?

aw, i loved wheatley's voice man!

i hope they don't change ti too much...
I think he's very good in terms of video game voice acting in general. He's certainly got a pleasant voice.

Put up to anything of Valve standard, especially GLADoS and he's just cringe worthy. His delivery just feels very scripted and patronising, like a childrens tv presenter. The writing is damn good as is expected (AAAAAA. Na, that's not it. AAAAAC...) but he's not great.

The best thing that can be said about him is he kind of reminds me of Holly from Red Dwarf, who was awesome partly because of how bad an actor he is. I'm pretty sure he would have annoyed me in no time if they'd stuck with him, especially if he continued to talk over GLADoS. It doesn't help that his voice hasn't been though the same robotic changes that GLADoS has so he sounds very out of place.

That's my problem - at the moment, in that video, Wheatley just sounds too scripted I think...

I try not to get exited for a game that's not going to end up coming out until 2033.
What about a game that comes out in the year 6549? *cough* Duke Nukem Forever *cough* I can honestly say I can't wait for that.

OT: I could not care less about Portal 2, I hated the first one and this looks to be more of the same garbage so meh.

Of course. The first Portal was the pinnacle of gaming and is the only example of a game that has no flaws.
It was a little shorter than I liked it to be, for me, but then again it was an experiment, like Mirror's Edge. It's just that Portal turned out a lot better than Mirror's Edge.
