I'm the "Red Shirt".

I just figure on any given day I'm likely to be taken out by a monster, phaser, or alien-turned-god. The likelihood doubles if I'm on an "away mission", aka a run to the market or putting a Netflix disc in the mailbox.

Egads! Almost everyone considers themselves the red shirt of their group, come guys you don't have someone other than yourself that you'd be willing to sacrifice?

Like the saying goes "Don't be a hero, leave that up to the pawns."

Myself. But it is more of a sense of duty to defend my opinions or my freinds or anyone I feel is in need of defending. I rarely lose. More Danny Crane then Redshirt.

there's really no singular "red shirt" in my group of friends, we all kind of cycle through taking the proverbial bullet

I'm going with my friend Courtney. Yesterday we were discussing (a group of us, mind, plus Courtney) how best to fire an elevator at the sun to cause it's collapse with our dear friend inside it. We have also referred to him as a kind of javelin, wearing a pointed hat made from either cardboard (if we're feeling generous) or newspaper (if we're not).

Yes, he is our red-shirt. Although there is a member of the group whom we have actually nicknamed "Red-Shirt", simply because he wears a red shirt.

...

And possibly looks like Wil Wheaton from his TNG days.

well I like to think that a certain someone else is but I literally wear red shirts ALL the time and whenever we are doing something that if caught would have reproductions put against us I am ALWAYS caught, so why do I do these rthings? because
"this might be the ONE time it happens to someone else!" but it never is. ALWAYS me

In my head, all your posts now have the voice of Zap Brannigan.
Yeah but see, I'm less "ineffectual and retarded," and more "callously dismissive of human life."
Ideally, you want something between Hitler and Satan.
That post sounds really good in Zap Brannigan's voice. I think I'm going to have to go with marq on this one, sorry.

Everyone in my life I make a stone to hop to and fourth as I may need to get what I want. I am an abuser of other people.

Most of my friends have way too much character development. Meaning not a single one of them is generic in any way. Which sucks, because some of them I certainly consider expendable.

I have a friend that always seems to get hurt... always. Seriously, we could be hanging out in a padded room and he would trip and fall and find the one spot on the wall that had a nail or bolt sticking out. If there is one thing around to injusre you he will find it, and not in a "oh look at that, be careful" sort of way. I totally believe the gods favor a fool.

Well, I guess it's me, since when I'm in a group I tend to be the one who stands there vacantly looking around while everyone else talks.

Then again, it could be either the rhythm guitarist or drummer for my band. I'm not too attached to either of them. I feel awful for saying it, but hey, I lose nothing by being honest to strangers.

The guys I've dated.

That sounds horrible, but once I thought about it, it seemed profound and disturbing.

Does light red count? My neighbour was wearing a pink shirt the other week, I asked him and he said it was ~ you guessed ~ light red.

For pretending pink is light red, I choose him.
