A Dead Pirate. I do not see the infatuation with these thieves & scum of the ocean.

As a member of the Ninja Coalition, I can't say I like any pirates. If I had to pick one, though, I'd have to say Charles Vane

Gotta go with Klaus Störtebeker. He was a real pirate, lived in the 14th century, and his name actually means 'Empty the mug in one gulp'.
A little quotation from wikipedia:
"The most famous legend of Störtebeker relates to the execution itself. Störtebeker is said to have asked the mayor of Hamburg to release as many of his companions as he could walk past after being beheaded. Following the granting of this request and the subsequent beheading, Störtebeker's body arose and walked past eleven of his men before the executioner tripped him with an out-stretched foot. Nevertheless, the eleven men were executed along with the others."

The lack of Guybrush in this thread disappoints me. He may have gone downhill lately (Read: every game after the third) But he still has enough residual awesome left over.

Jack is witty though

This. It's one thing to be a pirate, it's another thing to be a pirate and be payed for it, while being made a national hero. Therefore, he gets my vote
This.

Has anyone heard of the story where he was SHOT while raiding land for treasure and just shrugged it off and yelled at everyone to keep moving?

That man was a goddamn HERO.
