For the most part, people seem to think that a hero has to be an action hero of something along those lines, but we keep forgetting that these kinds of heroes are actually very rare. A hero is someone who makes an impact on your life, changes you for the better, and forges a kind of strength that cannot be found elsewhere. Some consider their teachers and family to be heroes, while others consider friends, religious leaders, and scientists to be heroes.
For me? It was my step-dad. He's no longer around, but he's given me some of the strongest lessons that I've ever had, mostly dealing with an attempt to understand the world and to meet my goals. The one thing that sticks out in my mind is this lesson that he gave me early in my life:
"Don't stop. Don't give up. The moment your mind thinks that you can't do something and the moment you accept that is the moment that you fail. Stand up and keep going. If someone stands in your way on your way to your goals, you either go around or run them the fuck over. Don't let anyone tell you that a goal can't be met."
So, I ask you all, who's your hero? Who gave you your greatest lessons in life?
