This could go on for a long time.
Have I just stumbled into a parallel universe in which the meaning of bad has been changed to that of good and viceversa?
I'm with you. Are you out of your mind daribian?! Granted, Changeling was slow in bits, and The Reader/The Visitor were obvious Oscar bait.
That being said, Slumdog and The Wrestler were out of nowhere amazing movies, Benjamin Button had orgasmic cinematography, while Milk and Frost/Nixon were very good pseudo-documentaries that presented the source material in an engrossing fashion.
What movies do you think deserved to be nominated?
EDIT: Okay, the things you liked are solid to good movies meant for a specific audience, i.e. a (for lack of a better word) geeky 18-35 male demographic. These movies appeal to you because I'm assuming you are a part of the audience.
The Oscar committee is made up of aging Hollywood producers, screenwriters, directors and such. Your tastes and their tastes are almost diametrically opposed. Given that, the movies nominated have a great deal of merit behind them that at this point, the movies you enjoy, in their eyes, do not.
Although didn't Little Miss Sunshine get nominated for a few Oscars when it came out?
