We tried to send him to Australia like in the good old days, but they weren't having any of it- this was the next best option. Also, no take-backsies allowed! We've spent years trying to get rid of him!
As it happens, the UK only started sending criminals to Australia after what became the US stopped taking them. Longer precedent of sending them to Georgia.

He's the British version of Bill O'Reilly.
I get what you are trying to say, but you may want to chose a different news commentator. Because while O'Reilly certainly a "Love him or Hate him" individual, he is the most watched news commentator in the US (although his popularity depends on the crowd you are with and maybe geographic location). Just sayin'

I have absolutely no idea who he is & I'm pretty sure most British people haven't either. He doesn't sound nice but it's obviously quite easy to avoid him...
This is a joke I'm not getting, right?

Piers Morgan is infamous in Britain. You'd be hard pressed to find someone who hadn't heard of him. He was a judge on Britain's Got Talent, too, so even those who don't follow the news and find their entertainment on the reality side of things, will know who he is. He was a pretty predominant figure in the Leveson Trials too. If you honestly have never heard of him, I both envy you and wonder how you managed it.

You can tell this thread is mainly Brits due to the regular use of **** to describe the ****.

I think I'm gonna have to agree with everyone else here.

You know someone's reputation as a **** has gone far when even Stephen Fry has referred to him as a **** before. Specifically when he was on the radio show I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue, and in a round where they were coming up with new joke definitions of old words he said:

"Countryside: To kill Piers Morgan."

As mentioned, he is more reprehensible than Jeremy "shoot people on strike in front of their families" Clarkson.
Except Jeremy Clarkson is joking when he says that sort of thing, I get the impression Piers isn't.
Charlie Brooker was sooo correct when he called him a "Slimy Prick"

Mainly because he is a reprehensible, self-righteous, slimy, arrogant prick who has millions being a reprehensible, self-righteous, slimy, arrogant prick. He is essentially an avatar for everything wrong the mainstream media at present.

So, if what I read is true (though I can't say for certain, since I've never seen his show), is sending him here some sort of long delayed punishment for the American Revolution and the War of 1812?

I have no TV, and I've only vaguely heard of Britain's Got Talent...totally missed him in the Leveson hearings too. I've just never heard someone actually mention the name in general conversation. Or maybe I've been brainwashed to remove all knowledge of this man...

You can choose whatever reason you want, as long as you keep him on your side of the pond! You guys have lots of guns, if he tries to leave, please shoot him!

Maybe he felt a bit hated over here, which is why he left. I hope so. I'd like to think he's aware that we all think he's a ****!

So I'm a fat American and recently I've gotten into watching British panel shows on YouTube. They've all got their own gimmicks and quirks, but if there's one thing that seems to be consistent it's that everybody hates Piers Morgan. Even Professor Elemental, the "chap-hop" artist rags on him a couple of times in his songs. Personally I'm only vaguely aware of the man. He was a host of some contest show I think for a while, and now he's apparently some sort of news show host on CNN.

But apparently he's managed to gain the ire of an overwhelming number of British citizens, and I'm rather curious as to what he's done to earn that much hate. I mean really, I understand there are some pretty un-liked celebrities, but this seems to be on the level of George W. Bush.
Basically he's an asinine, annoying waste of space. The guy is just some newspaper writer who's such a dick people thought it'd be cool to put him on TV, one of the things he's famous for is just getting in people's faces for example I also hate Jeremy Clarkson (the presenter of the British car show Top Gear) but Piers Morgon had to go over the line and push him with the pictures of this affair he'd had so Jeremy punched him in the face...twice.

Recently it's come out he might have had a role in a hacking scandal some of the newspaper companies were involved in but was able to weasel he's way out. The thing is though he's just one of those people who look like they always have a secret agenda, as if their never quite being honest to you and that you can't trust a word that comes out of their mouths. It's like if Piers Morgon was to be friends with you then it must be because he has some weird kind of end game planned.

Also from the sounds of it, he devotes money from he's newspapers on vendettas against people who say mean things about him, that's the kind of behavior I'd expect if a company accidentally hired two children dressed in a trench coat but now that I say it that's insulting to the two children dressed in the trench coat. (the bottom half does all the thinking, the top half is there because he looks more like an adult).

Or it could be that it's one of these weird things where a certain person is insulted on a panel show and now nobody can remember why they hate them but just that your suppose to hate them, a lot of people seem to have it in for Lembit Opik but nobody seems to know why exactly their suppose to hate the guy.

Though yeah we are kind of just sending the celebrities we think are annoying over to America though to be fair we give you Andrew Lincoln, Jude Law and Damian Lewis. So your welcome America still please take back Piers Morgon if you act now you'll also get Boris Johnson!

That's enough for me to know that he's a douchebag :D
HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS HAPPENED, AND IS IT ON YOUTUBE!?

*ahem*

He's pretentious and opinionated. For some reason, he tries to be a judge of talent while lacking any himself.

People praised him for that NRA interview, but only because he was the lesser of two evils.

I don't really like him, but he did earn some respect in my eyes for one situation.

He was interviewing those twin guys who claim to have invented facebook. They were suing Mark Zuckerberg or something, and Piers said "So really, is this about the money, or the sense of pride?"

"Really, it's not about the money. It's the principal of the thing, he stole our idea."

"So, if you win, you'll give all the money to charity?"

"...Well, no, not exactly..."

From my understanding he was considered a very subpar reporter back in the UK and once got a couple of British Soliders killed by doing something stupid. That and he thinks that this is an appropriate way to manage a talk show,

When piers "Morgan" Moron was a newspaper editor he committed insider trading, approved tapping peoples phones and hacking their email, printed false stories and was nasty to Ian Hislop. Since then he has gone on to lie on oath before the Leveson Enquiry. He is a also a gigantic tosser, an intellectual midget and a bully, even more so than Geoffrey Archer and Conrad Black combined.

Can't find the famous countryside quote, but here's something from Ian Hislop about Piers Moron.

EDIT: BlackStar42 already posted this video but it's good so I'll leave it up.

How about we compromise, and just ship him to Canada. They could use something to liven up their country a little.

I see a lot of people commenting on his personality and while I haven't seen him as an illogical liar when performing an interview he should basically be branded a criminal with no integrity.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piers_Morgan

I think the fake Iraqi torture pictures should be enough to not like the guy but I'll keep reading out of curiosity. There seems to be a lot of controversial things he has done.
