Why are elites in Halo 3 (multiplayer) so often discriminated against? Dumb topic I know, I'm bored

In my opinion, most people don't choose to play as an elite because they are bigger targets (which translates as being easier to kill) and most people stick with what they know, so they feel more 'comfortable' and 'natural' as a human.
Back when I played Halo 3 I usually played as a Spartan because I thought the armour I gave him looked good (I used the starting shoulders and a CQB helmet and chestplate in a red and grey colour scheme).

I'll give you the same reply i gave everyone else. It is becuase there hitbox is diffrent. While most players are use to sniping spartans and cant adapt to the elite Hitbox. Also they seem to make team Swat unfair.

Because for every person who discriminates against it, there is someone who will ***** about it and list every reason why they are better. (Not a shot at anyone here, just an observation.)
I prefer Elites. They look quite a bit better than the Spartans do, and have cooler looking armor.

BECAUSE BEING DIFFERENT GETS YOU FUCKING SHOT.
People zone in on the dude that's different. If, in a group, you are the only one wearing an EVA or Security helm, or you are one of the only Elites, don't expect sympathy when you get singled out.
Good job for being 'different' from everyone else. Nobody gives a flying fuck. If you like the Elite, by all means, use him. But don't QQ when being different gets you killed.

I feel your pain friend. I too play online as an Elite and get mocked. I was actually killed by my own teamate. I knew this was on purpose because he brutally beat me to death with a grav hammer. So yes I know that Elites are unfairly discriminated against, but I don't know why. I vote we get together and fight for the rights of all Elites on Halo. Of course my 360 recently experienced the "RRoD" so it might be a while before we could start our brave crusade. Oh and did I respawned I energy sworded all my teammates and quit the match. You screw with AssassinX66 you pay the price! >
