I put an edit in for The Thing prequeloctafish said:Fixed that for you. Anyway. I thought they were making a prequel to The Thing set in the Norweigan camp? Technically True Grit isn't a remake as it based on the book not the John Wayne film. Would you have railled against it? Because it is brilliant, a lot better than the Duke version. The Coens brilliant film-makers that they are have learnt their lesson after the travesty of the Ladykillers.eddyrhys said:Why are they remaking great films into what most probaly will be shit? Seriously My favourite horror film of all time 'The Thing' is being remade, and there also remaking another great film 'Red Dawn' and a remake of 'Total Recall' a film that was only good because ofArnieMichael Ironside. I don't understand it, do directors and writers actual not have any new ideas!?
:/
Oh. There also making an 'Indian Jones 5' and a 'Terminator 5.'
These films will be out 2011-2012 along with a lot of other shit and some hopefully good movies.
I know it's a silly thing to be pissed off about but I am. lol. Anyway discuss, give your views blah blah blah.

And I've seen the new True Grit film and yes it's a great film, I didn't think it was going to be bad because I knew it was based on the novel (Great book) I knew how the studio felt about the book and how much time and effort they put into making the film to be a worthy tribute to the novel. When a movie is based on a book it's either going to be good or bad, when a remake of a classic film (or in the case of The Thing a needless prequel) is made, especially at this time of horrible cinema, it's going too be bad.
