HD has not really been an issue for me. I can take or leave it. I'm 20 and I've lived all these years without having HD TV, games, etc. I think I can live without it altogether.
I will agree at times Mass Effect 2 had texture load issues however the textures existed to load unlike Dragon Age. I installed the game to my 360 and didn't run into the texture issue as much but it was there. And by no ways am I saying Mass Effect is the best looking or best designed game but it was leaps and bounds better than Dragon Age.TheBritish said:It was more disruptive to the game experience watching the textures sloooowly load in as you ran through an area than bad graphics would've been. The will for good graphics and short loading times damaged that game

This is hands down the dumbest post I have ever read. You have also lived 20 yrs without a house of your own so you can live without one of those too right? Your logic bypasses me completely.SilverUchiha said:HD has not really been an issue for me. I can take or leave it. Nono! I wasn't arguing about Mass Effect 2!mrpmpfan said:I will agree at times Mass Effect 2 had texture load issues however the textures existed to load unlike Dragon Age. I 100% with you. I just recently got a blu-ray player (no not a PS3) and I love watching my favorite movies in HD (District 9 is a stand out title).TPiddy said:As far as television goes..... once you watch hockey (or any sport for that matter) in HD, you will never want to go back to SD again.
As for games, HD games are really what PC owners have been enjoying for years, and now it's finally possible on consoles. I don't care if my game has amazing graphics, but they certainly add to the immersion factor. Playing the first 10 minutes of Mass Effect 2 in SD would just not give you that same sense of scale.
One thing I HATE though, is why do most games no longer support 4 player split-screen, when the TV's we have are bigger than ever?
There is a bit of a difference there (jackass). HD isn't a necessity. A house... kinda need at some point. HD, don't care about. House... not a priority now, but will probably want one after college. I think you just didn't really get my post.mrpmpfan said:This is hands down the dumbest post I have ever read. I guess you are right, Mass Effect 1 did suffer from it more. Plus had annoying elevator moments to allow the game to load. I gave it a pass since it came out so early on the Xbox 360. I saw significant improvements on Mass Effect 2 but the problem still existed on occasions.TheBritish said:I had no load issues with ME2, but in ME1 you were in some cutscenes and still looking at the low res textures![]()
All I am saying is to say you will never need a HD tv might be true but with the cost of TVs coming down, and the fact they don't sell non-HD sets any longer means one day you might buy an HD TV. When that day occurs you might eat your words.SilverUchiha said:There is a bit of a difference there (jackass). HD isn't a necessity. A house... kinda need at some point. HD, don't care about. Yeah that's a solid deal... I got a high-end Sony model on Boxing Day last year for $179.mrpmpfan said:I 100% with you. I just recently got a blu-ray player (no not a PS3) and I love watching my favorite movies in HD (District 9 is a stand out title).

I bought my Insignia 1080p Blu-ray (w/Netflix Streaming and Blu-ray live) for $37. My job benefit kicks ass.
I think of it this way, I don't have to pay to get the best looking picture I can 'cos it all looks the same.Klarinette said:If I find out that's why there's no difference for me... I'm gonna be pissed.omega 616 said:I honestly can't tell the difference, maybe it's 'cos I wear glasses.
Thats a good deal too. Yea I get access to a special auction site ran by the store Best Buy. They sell their overstock, returned and refurbished items on the site and we get awesome deals.TPiddy said:Yeah that's a solid deal... A 360 I purchased RR'ed after 2 weeks of play, and it's the longest I've ever managed to get one to work. Current PS3 lazer stopped working a week after the warranty gave out. Cheap, untested, shoddy junk. I've only had to purchase 1 console of each Nintendo generation. They all STILL work too. Can't say the same for any other console, well except my Dreamcast. It still works.Quiet Stranger said:It`s not really the Wii I hate (its a hunk of plastic) it`s Nintendo...for allowing such shit games to be put on their consoles, it`s just like back in the NES daysasinann said:If you have a plasma tv the odds are it's not the movies, but the tv that's giving you motion sickness. As far as everything going HD and widescreen, televisions now are widescreen native. The Wii is not, so everything gets stretched and side to side movements can get exaggerated, other than that I can't think of any reason to hate the Wii other than there really not being a ton of games on it I want to play.Quiet Stranger said:I lawled at this, also personally I don`t know why but HD movies make me more motion sickness then Cloverfield did (and I didnt get motion sickness from Cloverfield)Aura Guardian said:I could care less about HD. I've been happy with the Wii for 4 years. The Xbox 360...not so much.
And here again, the problem is not the TV but that the games and system aren't rendering picture in widescreen. I'm also guessing you went from something around 30 inches to somewhere around 50. The larger the screen the worse polygonal objects are going to look because they have to be made larger to cover the larger screen area, it's not like the PS2 can change resolutions.
