Well, why aren't you? This is most fun I've had in an adventure game(s) since Skyrim, and it doesn't even have any graphics what so ever.

Seriously people try to put at least a fraction of work into your threads.

Fine, since you're too lazy to spend five seconds in Google, I'll be proactive enough to do the work for you:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zork
From the link: "Zork was one of the earliest interactive fiction computer games, with roots drawn from the original genre game, Colossal Cave Adventure. The first version of Zork was written in 1977?1979 using the MDL programming language on a DEC PDP-10 computer."

" Zork distinguished itself in its genre as an especially rich game, in terms of both the quality of the storytelling and the sophistication of its text parser, which was not limited to simple verb-noun commands ("hit troll"), but recognized some prepositions and conjunctions ("hit the troll with the Elvish sword")."

And this guy made a video with terrible music:

I can't get into all text games. Never cared for MUDs, so I never bothered to buy the Zork games off GOG. Still respect it for what it is, though.

Zork is amazing. I used to play it obsessively, but then it just stopped appealing to me. It's sad how many people have absolutely no idea what Zork is.

Because I'm too busy playing Half-Life 2.

And after that I'll probably be too busy playing with something else.

Yes it is too bad, and I would of thought that Yahtze's and other game journalists love of them would've made knowledge of Zork and other such primitive classics more wide-spread.

Hey if hissy fits are what it takes for you to do proper threads then so be it, now I'll wait in the back for the next slip up.

How nice of you, I have always wanted to have my own editor. I trust that I don't have to pay you?

Zork was one of my favourite "games" as a kid.

Haven't played it for many years though.

Still remember getting annoyed when it wouldn't let me dance on the Gazebo in the first one.

Ahhh, text based adventure games where they never do strange things you type in.

Im not playing it now on account of having completed it like 20 odd years ago. Not much replay value in a single player text adventure!

If you really love it though, I recommend you check out http://www.thresholdrpg.com/ - an online MUD where you have to stay in-character, makes for a very interesting play experience!

Great, thank you for the link. Yes, that is also the reason Ratchet and Clank games are boring to me, since I've played that about a thousand times.

I played it a fair bit as a kid, but that's a long time ago. I always preferred ASCII Rogue-likes to solid text adventures though.
