I think we're getting a bit off-topic at this point.

ks1234, although this thread has gotten rather unnecessarily tense at times, I think you've at least started to grasp the main point that how you present yourself, especially when you're stressed, makes a big difference in how you're perceived. Once you leave a negative impression out of momentary frustration or irritation, that will be a deal-breaker in most cases.

In addition to everything else I've suggested, I do have one thing to add that I'm hoping will be helpful - you will find people much more receptive to you if you act under the viewpoint that *nothing* you do entitles you to *anything.* When you do good, you deserve credit and gratitude for it, but whether you get it or not is not for you to decide. Similarly, when you become more educated or change the way you dress or improve your attractiveness in some way, those points do not entitle you to female attention. That is simply not how society works. That is how games work.

I put on my uniform, do my job well and the government gives me all the respect I need on the 1st and 15th of the month. If you think wearing a uniform and doing a job makes you entitled to anything you're off your rocker.
You, sir, I will salute.

Basically by what people are saying to this argument is that soldiers, police, fire, EMT, etc. do not deserve respect for what they do... and that's fine... that is why this country is great because you're not going to get your tongue cut out because you don't 'respect' civil servants. I, on the other hand, believe these people DO deserve the respect of the citizens of this fine country because they will stand up and they will do things to protect and/or serve the citizens of this nation. As I said before, that's why this country is great because we can all have our own opinions and beliefs and I respect the people that will fight for our way of life or serve the people who enjoy it. It so happens that I will be undertaking a job that is one that I respect immensely... and the beliefs that these people deserve respect will not change, either way... it is what I believe, and everyone here can attack me all day long because of it, but they will not change.

Are you a serious gamer girl?
I think you understood the quote wrong, my friend. It seems as though she looks at the OP more as an interesting specimen than a mating partner.

Don't be fooled, the words tell the truth... "Rarely are there nerdy guys who also work out like crazy". Almost like a game of... Pokemon.

I love me an ol' "holier than thou" argument here and there. Thanks for posting.

I hope you think of this if (heaven forbid) a couple of guys break into your home and you wake up just in time to hear the window break and to call the cops as they burst into your bedroom, hold a gun to your head, and tell you that they are going to make you watch as they rape your wife before they but a couple of hollowpoints into both of your heads... but luckily, you called the police because you heard the window break, and you see the red and blues flashing outside as they run out the back door... and I PROMISE you, you'll be grateful... because most people don't have the courage or guts to put their life on the line for the average citizen.
Or the military- because, no, right now, they aren't doing anything to protect us DIRECTLY... but without them, we are an open invitation for foreign occupation...
Some people never cease to amaze me.
Wow now you've gone completely off the rails

Cops are in essence Historians. they show up after the fact and take a record of events for future use. Very very very rarely will a cop be called on scene to stop a crime in progress. If you have a family to protect get a gun and learn how to use it.

Cops took 20 minutes to arrive

Don't rely on the police THEY HAVE NO OBLIGATION TO PROTECT INDIVIDUALS http://www.firearmsandliberty.com/kasler-protection.html Being a police or a soldier is a thankless job. I was in the Marines for 4 years they fact that people are not forced to speak Russian or Wear a Burka (in America) is the only thanks I get. If you want to be a hero and be rewarded as a hero you are in it for the wrong reasons

Yes, forget all of the other people doing their part in their daily lives. Anyone who works deserves respect, no more or less than anyone else.

Getting back on topic, if you wonder why you have lady troubles, it's situations like these that should show you why.

Is your 'average joe' going to show up when my house is burning down and put the fire out? No. (that just one example) so, thats why a civil servant is deserving of more respect than your 'average joe'

Girls DONT like reading! Its fact! :p

But now im more interested in where the "I spent $30 on this book and now im a millionaire" book is. But genuinely what is the secret to success, money and power beyond ALL imagination AND to top it off be ripped like a cartoon character or Greg Valentino (I was small so I had to be bigger)

EDIT: Oh dear http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/111695-BioWare-Unveils-New-Muscle-Bound-Mass-Effect-3-Character

You are a ass, we should be lucky a cop would do their damn job. God I wish I had that attitude when I was life guard when kids call me a lame *** ***** who takes **** in his *** just because I said they couldn't swim in the deep end and they were drowning 3 minutes later in the deep end (Which by no means has the same level as being a cop, not by a long shot.
Don't underrate lifeguards so much. Heck, one saved my life when I was a kid, something no police officer has yet to do. Grabbing a drowning guy is pretty freaking dangerous, and requires a good level of real athleticism (not just the "look good in speedos" variety). When I was a stash Ensign waiting for flight school, I worked in the pool at water survival, and even in that controlled environment, I saw a lot of panic. And these were military guys. Can't imagine what it's like with random folks faced with the real possibility of drowning.

Hat's off to you, bud.

And yeah, as a former Navy officer, I'd say the whole "We deserve respect" thing can be really, really overdone. Sure, the military (and being a cop) is a tough, sometimes thankless job. But there's a lot of jobs like that. If I had to name the toughest job that did the most good, I'd name my friend who was a pediatric ER nurse. Every day she saw things that no one should see-- and they'd happened to kids. And she had a 6 and 12 year old child at home. Did that for ten years before she couldn't take it anymore and went into hospital admin.

That's a gutsy lady. And I'm willing to bet that she's saved more lives than all of us military and cop types posting in this thread have.

Eh, wildly OT. But I think this thread probably has run its course, anyway.

2) Sounds to me that your fixation with nerdy girls is more of a fetish than anything else and there is nothing worse than knowing that your date is with you because you are into something. It's like saying "I only date girls with big boobs" or "guys with huge muscles".
On the other hand, activity groups is one of the places where we find friends and partners, especially those of us for whom work, school and church are out. In my case, when seeking out new friends, I look for shared interests, and then when seeking out new lovers, I look to my friends (or their friends). I've had girlfriends before with whom I had few or no mutual interests, and over the long term they would devolve into relationships that were only about sex.[footnote]Of course, this wasn't always a bad thing.[/footnote]

I will agree that a fetish (sexual or otherwise) shouldn't be used to objectify a partner, but it doesn't hurt to bring together a compatable couple.

Practice, practice.

Any musical instrument is an aphrodisiac when played well.

I dunno about that. I've been at my kazoo for several years now, but neither Carnegie Hall nor Tiffani from the bar has returned my messages.

That's why.
You sound like an uber douche.
Most "nerdy women" (me) would classify you as a meat head and want nothing further to do with you.

You also don't know the difference between "lose" and "loose."

This is me being catty.

This is me being a model.

This is me leaving to play StarCraft.
I lol'd. There is really nothing more to say.

Quite possibly the most badass post I've seen since ever.

Wp, ma'am.
I don't get how this is "badass". True, the OP may be a bit arrogant, but so is she. Throwing out the "oh, look, I'm a gorgeous model and I hate you" line is just really tacky.

As my previous post states, I'm of the opinion that they are both the worst kind of person. I am also of the opinion that I don't want to share a thread with them anymore, so...

"This is me" finding another way to waste my time on the internet.
