Slightly off topic but it was annoying when people complained about a lack of a proper story in the Transformer movies as if they went in expecting something like a Shakespearian story. It is a movie about 40 foot robots blowing shit up, people need to see movies for what they are not what they think they should be.
thats just a cop out

just because a premise sounds silly when sumarized soesnt mean you cant make somthing good with it

another problem with transformers were the annoying as fuck human charachters

I just found out that Michael Bay is going to direct a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, and I couldn't be more frustrated with that. The first Transformers movie was by far the best one, but it had its flaws.

I can't see this being a good thing...perhaps someone can knock me off of the soap box...
yeah he also wants to make megan fox April O'Neal. Yeah, explain that one to me. seriously, I mean just get the damn pornstar witht he same name cause she was inspired by the show. shed probably have more appreciation.

Im just trying to figure out hhow he'll get to sport is giant military boner in this movie and how he'll destroy it and make it about the human characters more.

then again, maybe he's the best director for it. I mean, lets face it, the original TMNT was really dark and
They flat out just brutally murder shredder not even knowing if its the guy who did all that to them and just saying, eh, good enough

but i doubt it.

I actually agre..it was dark, gritty 80's and it worked. As I said before Its actually the only connection I ever had with the franchise...so when people talk about the cartoon I dont really care..my version of the turtles is darker and more grounded...people act as though you cant make a good movie from it because its a cheesy 80's toy line

you can make a good movie from anything if you respect the scource material and put in some effort
Definitely. While I did watch the cartoon as a kid, I can't really enjoy it anymore. I am a fan of the original comic line, but that's a different animal altogether. This movie, however, is one of the only "nostalgic" movies I enjoy without an ounce of nostalgia. Well... maybe just one ounce. :p

Not only that, in the comic [pushes up glasses] they did it with intention, after giving him a chance to commit seppuku.

I think the worst news is that he announced that Megan Fox will play April, why!!? There are at least a dozen other people that could play the role a lot better, i.e. Emma Stone she also sort of resembles April.

I did take a look at the "new/rebooted" ninja turtle comics

they werent too bad, and I liked the interesting take on their origin story....however I kind of lost interest as soon as krang and aliens showed up

they are release volumes of the original comics too

Ok let's clarify some things -

Thanks to several of you chiming in, I now know that Bay is not the director.

Secondly, the thing about the turtles is that it has to be believable. it's not that we believe that there are turtles that can talk and do ninjitsu, but the personalities and the antics are what makes it work. Just becuase there are mutant ninja turtles doesn't mean that the movie is automatically mindless.

Third, I think Meagan Fox as April pretty much tells me all I need to know. April was never about sex apeal.

For me, it's not about Krang, or aliens. Krang was fun, but they don't need him. It's about the way the turtles work together under splinter, and how they interact with April. Plus, it's in NYC.

I'm not saying it can't be made into something good. I knew it was going to mainly be a movie aimed at guys with not much of a story which is the frame of mind I went into watching them with and I enjoyed them. If it did however have a great story then that is a bonus.

Bay's production company also owns the rights to the Goonies and Monster Squad, last I heard, so expect more childhood raping.
