Why can't I enjoy this game?

My query is thus. So have you ever had this reaction to a game? Do you ever sit down to play a game and wind up shutting it off at the title screen or after playing it a bit? I know I have especially with Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2. So I want to know, what game has made you say that and why?

GTA IV though to this day I'm not entirely sure why. I thought I'd love it, anticipated it's release and brought it but then just couldn't stick with it. I keep trying to go back to it but nothing makes me wanna play longer than the time it takes to mow down a few pedestrians.

I wanted to like "Phantom Hourglass". I really did. But that fucking temple killed it.

This happened with LittleBigPlanet and Killzone 2. The former was a charming and fun platformer, but for some reason I just didn't wanna keep playing it. And Killzone 2... ugh don't get me started on Killzone 2.

Borderlands is doing this to me... I tried a few times to play it solo but couldn't get into it. A few people said it was a better experience if you played with friends so I've tried that a couple of times and still no good.
It actually makes me really angry as well. Shame, i was looking forward to it.

Just thought of another, Torchlight is pretty much the same thing for me. Perhaps I just haven't given it enough play time but I find myself hating on it whenever I do try to play it, think it seems too "generic arpg" or something.

One of the things I've always wanted to do (in a game) was rip a building realistcally to shreads (preferably with a giant robot). Red Faction: Guerilla sounded like the game I had been waiting for, but I was sorely let down.

SOCOM Tactical Strike. I got through half the training course before just turning it off and never going back to it.

Fallout 3 and Oblivion. Once you've hit the level cap and nothing is a challenge any more, I just can't be bothered playing to the end. Hell, I've hit the level cap of Oblivion and the farthest I've got in the main quest is escaped the jail, seen the Prior and that's it.

Here's an idea: Developers (I'm looking at you, Bethesda!) need to calculate the maximum number of experience points you can get and ensure that until you've done everything, you can continue levelling and being challenged.

CoD 6 but I suck at first person shooters, campaigns okay byut it frustartes me when I'm meant to have fun on the multiplayer and I keep getting killed which isn't fun.

The first level of KOTOR, the only reason I got through that level was my friend came around and did it for me, I'm glad he did though because KOTOR is brilliant

Yeah, I find myself quitting MW2 a lot lately also. I will play a couple of matches, get bored, then either stop playing or play GTA or something.

Too many to count, but some notables include-
Medieval 2: Total War. Despite how much I love RTW, M2 just sucks balls in comparison (which is odd since it is the sequel to Rome). Empire was in the same boat, until I played it enough to get into it.

CoD Mw/WaW/MW2. All fall into the same category. Campaign is bland and worthy of 1 or 2 playthroughs and multiplayer isn't overly fun. I don't do online gaming, so I get really annoyed when split-screen is ousted or degraded. Perfect example is the Heartbeat sensor in MW2, tis worthless in split-screen since you can't see but the top 3rd of the thing at most.

Killzone 2. I liked KZ1 and played for hours in single-player against bots. For some reason, couldn't get into KZ2. It would help if I could see anything besides the glowy eyes (damn Next-Gen graphics).

GTA4. TOTAL crap. GTASA is SO much better. Cars handle like poo, weapon choice is too limited, and it steals too many ideas. The phone is taken from Saints Row (but at least SR would pause everything when you tried to put in cheats, targeting from Scarface, and the police-evasion system is a 100% DIRECT rip from Scarface (Scarface being a much better game). Usual vehicle selection include a taxi, another taxi, a third taxi, and to spice things up a bit a taxi van. Not even falling from a helicopter was fun. You just bounced a tad and that was the end of it. It in no way deserved a 10, more like a 3 at best.

Uncharted did that to me. I got about an hour in, was disinterested, and never touched it again (thank the gods for rentals). Same with CoD:WaW, now that I'm thinking of it.

GTA:IV is an example. In my mind, I know it's a really good game. It does so many things well, I like the world and I find it complex and interesting, but, for the life of me, I just cannot enjoy it. There's just enough little things combined that get in the way of it being fun, but I can easily see why somebody would love the game. Just not me, for some reason.

Mass Effect, every time I played my eyes got tired and got a headache I was frustrated at always missing speech options and the bland side planets.
