Weird. I loved the hell out of it and I got bored out of my teeth with Fallout 3.
Normally I'm the negative one. This is unusual.
I love the dynamic of the different factions mostly, and the fact that my character doesn't seem to be a walking god on hardcore mode.
I remember getting chased by Raiders early in the game, limping behind some cover after 5 minutes of running, ready to go out in a blaze of glory...
WHAM
KAI-SAR'S Legion storms in and murders the lot of them, tip their hats and leave.
It was awesome. The fact they saved me from the Raiders early on made the choices later harder then they should have been...
Fallout 3 just felt railroaded. You could struggle a bit, rock the boat.
But you had to be a nice guy and join the super friendly Brotherhood of Steel. Paladins of the people!
PURGE THE ENCLAVE!
I mean, sure, I would have done that anyway...but the option would have been nice.
Free will and all that.
Plus, it may be petty....but I like aiming down the sight.
It really made the game 20% cooler, all on its own.
