I can recall peoples faces from memory even if I've only seen them for a second, this especially becomes a problem on Myspace/Facebook because when I see someone out who I know from those sites I will go up to them and say that I know them, bad move, I'm surprised I haven't been maced yet lol
Wow. I'm the complete opposite. I take a few months to finally associate a name with a face.

Even after I've associated a face with a name I NEVER use the name. To the point where I've had freinds I've had for months just assume I didn't know their name.

I don't know why but I really dislike using people's names. I'll walk across the room and tap a person's shoulder before I'll call to get their attention. Just something weird about me.

Back on subject, I can't understand why people have trouble with strategy. Both strategy games and real life strategy (like avoiding meeting people at parties or getting out of school undetected). Stuff like that comes naturally to me but there are people who just can't figure out what they're supposed to do next.

Oh, and I'm an excellent liar. But I kind of understand why some people are bad at lying so ... I'm not sure if that counts.

There's a reason I'm known as Jacob Malone in some circles; it's because I like to lie about my name because it makes me feel more importiant than I really am.

All terrible jokes aside, though, I seem to have more common sense in my little finger than most people have in their bodies. I fail to understand how some people just don't use their heads. I have a hard time understanding why people go out of their way to make each other miserable sometimes; we're all in this together, so why can't we at least try to get along?

This may because I have Aspergers syndrome; it may be because I'm smarter than most people you'll meet over the course of your life.

That being said, I do have a terrible sense of humor, and I apologize profusely for it.

I understand instructions. A lot of other people don't. Try playing gmod and telling someone how to make a ranger trap.

I have the skill of reading and comprehending books fairly easily and quickly without trying, I am awed by people who can't read without struggling.
But as for writing, notes, essays, fiction, journals, anything I'm not pouring myself into, I can't write for squat. This makes high school english frustrating since I know the stuff, can answer verbal and choice questions easily, but cannot finish a paper without last-minute panic.

See, I can read, write, and speak pretty well, enough so that it baffles other people. My spelling may not be top-notch, but I can get a point across and make you belive it.

Which is odd, becasue that's supposed to be difficult for me. Oh well.

Apologies abound.

I have a terrible short-term memory, to the degree I have trouble remembering names and faces even though I've seen them dozens of times. For instance after my English teacher finished telling us that he would be out the rest of that day, and the sub's name would be Mr.Croaker, I raised my hand and asked "When's he coming in?" to which the teacher replied "I'm Mr.Croaker". Upon comparing the two men later I was forced to admit, they look nothing alike.

The upside is that I have a photographic long-term memory. If I can get a fact into my noodle, I will never forget it. For instance the key-code to the Chinese club is 725 in Vtmb, and the first key-code you encounter in the hospital has a code of 1969. I'm in the 99th percentile according to the school's testing.

I have horrible handwriting, thus horrible drawing skills. I also don't have the ability to make anything original. Usually I think of something completely original (to me) until I realize that I copied from many other games.

As for a skill I have that most other people who I come into contact with don't, I'd have to go with my understanding of how to troubleshoot problems. There have been many times I've been asked by someone to help them with a particular problem, (could be comp. related could be a plumbing conundrum.) and I usually can by just looking at everything separately to find a solution instead of looking at whatever the problem may be as one large mess.

Though I don't consider this a skill, it sure does seem like it at times. I'm usually the person my friends or my friend's friends ask when it comes to trivial crap. I'm usually berated by questions during a movie as to why something is happening or what something means, etc. etc.. Same thing applies to books. (wasn't particularly fun in school to be the "go to guy" for everything from book reports to Biology homework.)

My last skill I'd have to say would just be my knowledge of computers and computer software. I still don't know what is so hard for people to understand about one program in particular, Ventrilo. If anyone has ever been in a clan or anything along those lines were the program was used I'd imagine you know who I'm talking about, the one person who doesn't even know how to install the damn thing let alone use it.

As for a skill I do not understand I'd have to go with reading/ writing music. Never did make any sense to me, but then again I despised my Music teacher which couldn't have helped much.

I have that too. As a result, I'm the guy that everyone asks for help.

English and I don't mean i can't speak it or anything ,I mean the subject. I'm 15 (hence still at school) and after being fluent in it I don't really see much point in it, because really what employer's gonna say to you at a job interview "Here's and piece of paper and a pen give me a 5000 word essay on The Life and Times of William Shakespeare, you have two hours" are they. As long as you can speak it, write it and read it at an acceptable level I don't see the point in wasting two school years (which frankly could go to better use) on it.

(And please don't nitpick this post for bad spelling/grammar.)

I have trouble understanding why people are so mean to each other. I mean the unprovoked kind of mean-ness (I have a small vocabulary).

Also, something I can't understand at all is the lack of common sense.

Reading most of the replies here, I'm inclined to say that compared to some people, I'm exceptionally tolerant of imperfections and shortcomings in people!

Come on, it's easy to understand why some people can't do some things. Everyone is different, we all percieve things in different ways depending on experiences, which of course are all unique.

If you GENUINELY don't understand why someone can't use grammar or spelling properly, can't draw, can't sight-read music or can't solve logical puzzles easily, I'd be more worried about why you can't sympathise and make basic connections between cause and effect.

Wait, was I just hypocritical?

I see where you're getting, but when you're explaining something to a person, (when you're an expert, and they're clueless) it is really tedious.

That's the theme of the topic. What can you do that people just don't get? Or maybe the other way around?

It's not a skill. But I don't understand how some people just refuse to learn how to mess with electronic stuff, specially when it's simple as just changing cds and pressing the on button on your PS2.

Then there's logical skills. Things like having a sequence of a cube that's moving and having to understand to what direction the cube moves next. Something I find really easy to do but a lot of people get confused with it.

I can't work out how to make cracks work.
Meaning if I ever want to play my beloved Age of Empires II again, I'll have to *gasp* buy it :O

One of the hardest thing I ever had to see was watching this Spanish girl try to spell:

"though they thoroughly thought it through, the eight fighters sought the coughing gnomes"

just form hearing it spoken, and the 'gh' and 'ou' are really hard for Spanish speakers even to say let alone get round spelling.

Sometimes the English language is just evil.

BTW, did you know that in Spanish Zorro is pronounced "Thorro". I don't know if it's the same in Mexico though...

It probably is. I don't see why they would change their national language.
