I've been watching Cartoonnetwork for years. Actually, I stopped watching a few years back- but my sister turned it on today and I realized that the whole channel is on big collection of ADD morons now. That Dried Dynomite crap is every thing that make Tim and Eric Awsome Show Great Job cool, and ruins it. What ever happened to being the only channel that you'll never see a live peson on. I miss the days of Cartoon Cartoons. What ever happened to the good old shows and why are they replaced with this crap. These guys aren't Disney. If they're not pimping their crappy character for money, then why are they turning themselves into crap distributors like Disney and the new Nick. What ever happened?

What do you think?
You grew up.

Seriously though, the 10 year olds of today will be all like in ten years "wtf, why are there no more good cartoons?"

There's still good animation out there, for adults. It's just really f**king hard to find. Check out Mike Judges and Don Herdzfelt's animation show, for some pretty boss animation.

You,me and nearly everyone on this thread agrees.

What can I say I love a lot of the old stuff. Some things I can?t find anymore. The older cartoons had a special kind of charm to them. Sure there was some stupid humor but nothing as bad as trying to sit through an episode of sponge bob and not blow my brains out. But I mean the good stuff:
Ahhh... real monsters
Angry beavers
Invader Zim
Hey Arnold
Powerpuff girls, Dexter, Courage,
Sonic underground (the one set in Knothole)
Digimon, Pokémon

Now that?s not to say some really good stuff didn't come out since then... like Avatar. But shows like that are few and far between. Hell for the two hour series finally of Avatar we ordered pizza and made a night of it.

SIGH... well it's more or less over now.

You know who I blame for this? Whiny parents who believe everything on TV is horribly influencing their children, propped up by "The Freakin' FCC". They ruin everything. So now we can't have a Johnny Bravo running around being a womanizer because it's demeaning to women, even though they always beat the crap out of him. We can't have a Dexter who has a laboratory because kids might start playing with the chemicals under the sink in an effort to try and get their own talking duck. We can't even have a Bugs Bunny for crying out loud, just because he was a cross-dressing, gun-wielding, smart-assed genius! And the harassing Pepe LePew, the violent Tasmanian Devil, the cannibalistic Sylvester (That's what cats do! They try to eat birds, cute as they may be!), even the drunken stork, they all get the boot with him.

So what does that leave us with?

A watered-down slop trough of a batch of cartoons, filled with overly senstive, mentally damaged 8 year olds with random nouns for last names, who are supposed to use their imagination, and dream up scenarios in which they peacefully defeat their enemies, who always become friends afterwards, using an ketchup bottle or something retarded like that, who always have to learn a lesson, no matter what situation they come into, and who are about as entertaining as an hour long lecture on "The Virtue of the Good Side of the Human Psyche," delivered by a tag team of Al Gore and Hideo Kajima!

All I can say is thank god I have Teletoon Retro, so I can watch Bugs and Daffy and the gang in all their glory.

Yeah, we all know Tim and Eric are retard, but what about the good stuff thats on Adult Swim? You know, like Metalocalypse, Venture Bros., Home Movies, Robot Chicken. Plus they had Futurama reruns before Comedy Central got to them.

They actually canceled Megas XLR after two seasons. Even though it was actually voted to be the best American animation....seriously! That show was so awesome! Also, do they still have Courage the Cowardly Dog? That was one of my favorites when I watched Cartoon Network a bunch. Samauri Jack was also really awesome. Great story, awesome action, cool vision of the future. Invader Zim was definitly the funniest show i've ever seen though....ever. My friends and I still refer to a bunch of stuff as our "Jolly (insert item here) of doom!)" I loved that song "Behold, Behold, the Power of Santa, or be crushed, be crushed, byyyyy, his jolly boots of doom!"

So much awesome in this thread.

But before you go on a nostalgia rampage, some of the semi-new cartoons were good too, like Teen Titans, Code Lyoko, Batman Beyond...

I also remember back in the day when Saban was doing wall to wall Super Sentai shows, 4 different kinds of Power Rangers, VR Troopers, Mystic Knights etc. Man that was fun!

Cartoon Network is digging it's own grave. All the cool shows like Johnny Bravo and Dexter's Laboratory are gone.

Oh yeah, the upside is CN created the greatest cartoon ever, SAMURAI JACK.
Yeah, they need to go back to the nineties cartoons. They were cool, stuff like Rocko's Modern Life, Aaahh!! Real Monsters, Johnny Bravo, cow and chicken, and all the great ones. Go back and find all the really good cartoons and they can watch their ratings sky rocket. Maybe even remake a few of the old ones.

Off topic, can you buy those series on dvd? I really want them for some reason, specially Aaaah!! Real Monsters. I loved that show. Check cartoon network occasionally but I haven't seen anything good on there in years.

That was the purpose of Cartoon Network in the first place, though. To play old cartoons. Rocko's Modern Life and Aaaahh! Real Mosters! were Nickelodeon ones as well, if I remember rightly.

In any case, I would love it if the channel would stop playing crappy 4kids anime and play some genuinely good material, like the good old days.

Society today has systematically butchered our childhoods to suit more of the youngsters today, who apparently are all tweens who wear "slut" on their ass and need to have a cell phone in a 2 foot radius at all times. Cartoon Network is the biggest hypocrit of them all because they call themselves a "cartoon" network and yet I see them playing movies like Home Alone 3 and shows that feature REAL people. Don't get me started on nickelodeon (television for kids my ass!)

It doesn't matter how many petitions we sign to get the old stuff back or how much we ***** because no one is listening.

For me, my childhood is dead. All I have left is to be nostalgic about the days when it was cool to be a kid. No one can take that away from me...NO ONE!

Really? Then Nickelodeon should go back to good shows as well. And I remember Cartoon Network being for old shows, but same as Nickelodeon it's all crappy stuff designed for idiots. Lots of crap, little good stuff, though you do get the occasional gem.

and what happened to Megas XLR that was pretty badass it was on for like half a year... but yeah AS has become pricks as well... I don't mind robot chicken that shit is funny, but please stop with Seth Mcfarlene if his ego gets any bigger the world might implode

although no inuyasha i am thankful for that (although it plays for an hour after everything has aired... i think at 5 AM)
