I'm sorry to have to be the one to point this out, but it only seems crappy to us because we're, for the most part, old enough to be watching something else. You have to understand CN's standpoint here; They have to appeal to a demographic, specifically the pre-to-early teen set. To grab that demographic, they have to go with what appeals to them, and only them. In other words, we aren't CN's target audience anymore. Maybe back in the day, when CN was still considered enough of a niche, specialty channel to run quality animation exclusively, we were, but the fact is, CN's not a specialty channel anymore. Because cartoons can now be seen almost everywhere, it's become less a cartoon channel, and more a generic "kids" channel. From a business standpoint, it's the only way they'll keep their head above water when going head-to-head with Disney and Nickelodeon.
This is partially why Boomerang came into existence. While CN is off paying the bills by appealing to small children with half-hour bursts of frantic stupidity, hyperactive children and commercials coated in a half-pound of sugar, Boomerang is the go-to guy for sticking to CN's original message, airing real cartoons nonstop.
