Cartoon Network sold out like a bunch of whores. They went for ratings over content. It is that simple.

I can't forgive them for not showing the endings of Samurai Jack and Megas XLR. Make them or burn in hell.

Cartoon Network is dead to me. I miss the old shows like "Ed, Edd n' Eddy", Courage the Cowardly Dog, and Looney Toons.

It's nostalgia. Just like the generation before looks on your generation with detest, you look on the next generation.
Bullshit. The shows that used to be on it STILL are good. My nieces and nephews love them. The new stuff is utter garbage.

Nostalgia is unusually powerful but it is not what is fueling this feeling that CN died. It really did. Just like Fox cancels anything good so does Cartoon Network.

I used to love it as a child with Dexter's Lab and the Powerpuff Girls... But let's face it, it's a bt past the majority of our age ranges now so the shows aren't going to be as appealing.
Not everyone runs with the cliche of "You get old and your inner child dies." I still like just about everything I liked when I was a kid. The only things I don't like anymore are the things where quality tanked.

GI Joes got shitty plastic joints instead of those badass metal ones. Cartoons have steered away from great writing and loveable characters for crap in a crap blanket.

I still think Dex and the Puffs are great shows. Hell I've got the Muppet Show on DVD and I find it great. The problem is people are getting raised on crap, its like being raised in a box and only a box. You'll never know the world outside your box is awesome because all you ever experience is the box.

It's not even me just absorbing my generation either, I was a fan of quite a few Nick at Night shows as well. Lucy had some explainin' to do every night when I was getting ready for bed :).

I never called it sophisticated. But all the non-cartoon shows are terrible. CN stopped really caring about real cartoons.

I could tell that something was wrong when the good shows on Toonami (Dragon Ball Z, Yu Yu Hakusho, Rurouni Kenshin, Outlaw Star, and so on) were replaced with drivel like Totally Spies and Code Lyoko. From that point on, one by one, good shows were pulled from the schedule and replaced with complete and utter crap, and it wasn't just shows on Toonami either.

Classic shows like Johnny Bravo and Dexter's Laboratory were taken away. Even Megas XLR, a shining beacon of awesomeness in this time of televised darkness, was cancelled before too many episodes were made.

This also spread into Adult Swim, as it slowly but surely replaced its line-up with horrible shows, the first coming to mind being Tom Goes to the Mayor. The arrival of that show marked the downfall of Adult Swim into pure shittiness. Seriously, I have no idea how anyone can consider Tim and Eric's schtick comedy.

And it doesn't help that the newer episodes of Inuyasha were stopped so that Adult Swim could put in King of the Hill. Really, guys? King of the Hill? Is this some kind of fucking joke? Sure, Inuyasha's far from spectacular, but at least it's kind of interesting. King of the Hill is just plain boring, and the amount of actually decent jokes is miniscule.

One more note: where the hell is Korgoth of Barbaria? How could a pilot episode of such unbridled brilliance not lead to a series? Who in the world thinks that Korgoth of Barbaria doesn't deserve to be on television, but Tim and Eric does?

To put it simply, Cartoon Network screwed itself into oblivion. Also, the golden era of television was around the late 90s through 2001, when ZDTV (and its successor TechTV) was still around, Adult Swim was still good, and Toonami had Japanese programming.

They must make a killing not needing writers for any of these new shows though.

PS. I agree King of the Hill is crap. (To me at least)

I think that tim and eric sucks donkey balls. More to the point, so does every other live action program that has ever graced this channel. ALL shows such as these are shining examples of what cartoon network is doing wrong. They cant even get adult swim right anymore. Was nice knowing you, and I dont think im alone when I say we miss Johnny Bravo.

The only thing I watch on that now is Adult Swim.

All the good shows, like Batman: the animated series (the one with Mark Hammil), Courage the Cowardly Dog, Johnny Bravo, Dexter's Lab, Cartoon Cartoons, Tom and Jerry, Looney Toons, all died a long time ago...

and brought Cartoon Network with them.
