3D tv that has some sort of tech that allows splitscreen players to be viewing two separate fullscreens at the same time. Its going to be revolutionary with coop games.
That may be the coolest thing I have read in months. And something that might actually make one of those super-expensive monstrosities worth it.

You're asking why the hate, yet you still use a $ for the S in MS. You can't have that much love for the company, but honestly I think it comes down to the fact that E3 is a convention followed by Hardcore gamers. These people may own Kinect sure, but I doubt they honestly give half a shit about all the games demoed by Microsoft. Core gamers want to see core games. No I'm not talking about the "new" COD or Halo I'm talking about new IP's about things that show something different and innovation - but without me having to stand up and look like a twat.

Just to point out another thing, voice commands for mass Effect 3 could have easily been implemented for EVERYONE, not just people who have a kinect, and all it would have taken was a HEADSET which every xbox comes with. It's just another excuse to use the kinect, not a reason for it to actually exist.
O_O. Wow. This is very true. I must bring that point up with my co-worker next time he's defending Kinect as "the greatest piece of gaming technology we'll ever see".
You could tell him that when webcams first started coming out they had game demos to show off what it could do (I remember one I head where you popped bubbles with movement). Showing that the idea isn't new it's just repackaged with newer tech to make it more useful.

Overall, this E3 wasn't TOO terrible, but I would have to agree that Microsoft did the worst. It was definitely too Kinect-focused; as cool as Kinect is, they really didn't have much else to sell besides that and the we-already-knew-they-were-coming Halo sequels which are pretty much impossible to get excited about at this point in time anyway. Nintendo did the best in my opinion, nothing quite beats the announcement of a home console....

Not even close to the worst showing ever but it was underwhelming for sure. They just didn't have anything particularly new to show.

I like how most people bitched by saying that Microsoft wouldn't support Kinect.

But then - BAM - they support Kinect and you all get pissed off.

Frankly, I liked the conference. The new Halo's are exciting. And some of the Kinect games looked cool. Also the Kinect support for ME3 is pretty sweet as well.
This. People complained like hell about the initial line-up for Kinect going on about no serious games...lo-and-behold this E3 they have the serious and popular games Mass Effect 3, Ghost Recon and the EA Sports titles and...people complain that they are forcing Kinect into the serious and popular games. And stuff like YouTube and Bing are nice touches. And the announced sequels for their main franchises (without Kinect as well. Just in case you really don't like Kinect. Woo.) and an HD version of one of the most critically acclaimed games of all time. And even a sequel of one of the best-selling franchises of all time as well. Oh and an Xbox 360 version of Minecraft (not a big fan myself, but plenty of people in the geek culture seem to). And even games for the kids/family crowd. But apparently that constitutes a crap E3 for them.

Personally, me and my mates who also watched it were excited as hell about most of it, although one friend finds the Sesame Street game scary as hell.

everyone at e3 sucked. well, the 3 console shows sucked, some of the individual developers had nice things to show.

micro$oft sucked because its show consisted entirely of shitty kinect features and sequels. apart from their continuing efforts to make the kinect relevant, there was nothing new, and all in all nothing interesting; nintendo at least surprised me with how insane they have really become.

it was a terrible press conference because it foucused way too much on casual games and even the hardcore games on it i.e mass effect 3 tom clancy could have been just as easily with a headset. also there was absolute othing i took way from the conference that old me they still cared about the hardcore sure gears of war 3 was cool but we saw it last year and mw3 and tomb raider are on ps3 too.also they destroyed the fable series now making it on rails.

Honestly, the only thing I personally enjoyed at e3 this year were the Skyrim and Battlefield 3 trailers. Skyrim. Dragons. Want now.

In my opinion, it's because they only really showed off two things. Halo and Kinect. That's all well and good, but what about the people who aren't interested in that? How about one other game? Nintendo had like 20 games showcased.

I watched the Microsoft conference, all of it, too much kinect, and the part with the Disney Child actors was grating on the soul. I didn't know whores could be so young and tacky.

Crap, double post. It didn't appear the first time :-S

I guess i'll add that while a few things, like the ME3 and Ghost Recon kinect stuff were interesting, you don't lose anything by not using them so it was quite unnecessary, just like the kinect.

If you want my opinion. You all ask for too much. And you all need to learn to deal with a company's decision, they're there to make money, not to change your diaper when you shit your pants. Don't like what they're pushing tough shit. All I've seen since E3 is everyone bitching about how everything sucks. The lot of you can't be pleased and it drives me up a fucking tree...

That's my two cents on the subject.

your right we do ask for too much like games that are made for people over 7 because if that happened they would be changing our diapers your right.

New IPs are overrated. How many new IPs are even new? Same plot, same game, different character names.
Everything Im excited for this year is a sequal and Im fine with that.

Halo is Bungie, which is large enough to no longer need funding or aiding by MS now. Surprised no-one has pointed this out yet.
While the rest of your post is very informative and well thought out, I must correct you here. Halo is anything but Bungie now, as they gave up the rights to it to Microsoft when they 'split'. The new Halo games are being created by 343 Studios I believe, who have been responsible for all things Halo for a while now.
Ah yes, I remember now, yes you are quite right, I apologise. I wrote that post at 2 in the morning after I got in from work, not really fully concious ;)

343 is in fact a branch of MS, making a bloody remake of a classic that doesn't need to be remade. I'm not paying full price for a game I already own, with nothing new but a facelift, and multiplayer levels from other Halo games! Ah well, maybe they finally understand, the only great game in the Halo franchise was the first one...
