If the guy complaining about the "spoiler" keeps returning, we all know someone's going to insert an actual spoiler in the thread.

All the Bethesda RPGs I've played so far have what seems to be luck but is actually fate. In oblivion, the man who saves the empire from oblivion is "luckily" saved by the fact that the Emperor needs to use the secret passage in his cell.

You're the child of prophecy, that's why you get plot armour.

waitwut? It was Alduin? Lol, Skyrim.
Doesn't really matter for me since the main story is kind of crappy anyway.

Here's another spoiler
It's called TES:SKyrim because it takes place in Skyrim.
Bet you thought it was in Hemmerfell.
Ruined the suprise for you!

OnT:
It's probably prophecy plot armour.
Considering in Oblivion you happend to start in the cell that the emperor uses to escape.
I guess if the bad guys haden't attacked him,you would never have gotten out and help Martin & company.

SPOILER ALERT: you kill dragons.
I mean seriously, every single game in the series has you starting out as a prisonner, and you being released in different ways.

OT:Alduin screwed the pooch, and sealed his own fate by being a dick to humans. It's almost poetic: he attacks humans, by doing so he saves the hero, which is now free to kill him later on.

If we're willing to accept that a Dragonborn was born to conveniantly coincide with the return of the dragons in the first place I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that those same forces would bring Alduin and Dovahkiin together.

Agayek said:
Most likely because nobody knew the PC was Dovahkiin until that first dragon kill. At the time, he was some random schmuck. Alduin choosing then to attack was just a random stroke of luck/irony.
The first dragon definatly knew you were Dragonborn before you defeated it. If you fight it with subtitles enabled the shouts/roars are translated to "Dovahkiin, No!" when you hurt it. So if that first dragon knew you by sight, Alduin must have aswell.

SPOILERS - WARNING!!!

Aldiun was sent forward in time by some past heroes (forgot their names) using the an Elder Scroll, so during your execution, it guess it was a chance of luck that he decided to attack Helgen.

He was just looking to eat some tasty humans, and helgen happened to be the closest source. It's pure luck, fate, destiny. Just like how the guy in oblivion just happened to be in the right cell. It's an Elder Scrolls thing, you're supposed to see the hand of fate saving you from your past, and putting you on the road to your bright new destiny.

It's fate you muppet! He didn't plan to *SPOILER* that ended up with him being there at that exact time. He actually kills you if you step in his way / run too slowly in the courtyard, trust me. But Bethesda wanted to stay true to their whole "imprisoned character" concept and they also wanted dragons to appear as early as possible into the story. IF they do that you need a way out of prison so why not have the dragons first appearance coincidently save you?

My will to reply is greater then my will to stop others getting the story spoilt, call me self centered from that, but hell I am on the escapist for a conversation.
"If the OP does not change the title, STOP commenting on the thread" I will once I stop getting replies I think I should make a reply to.
It is slightly ironic, but hey I reply to near enough everything.
this guy is a total troll. otherwise he would stop reading... right about here

alduin is the name of the big bad dragon that you have to kill in nord heaven where he feasts on souls. it was earth the whole time. the companions are werewolves. the kid's counselor is himself a ghost. dont't kill chickens. she's secretly a man. the leader of the dark brotherhood betrays you and in turn gets herself and most of the brotherhood killed. snape kills dumbledore. rosebud is the name of citizen canes sled.

now stop reading responses to a thread you think is spoiling your game just to complain about spoilers.

I am not reading responses to this thread (excluding the one which I noticed calling me possibly a troll). If you think I am a troll, you don't understand what the word means, I am merely replying to posts that quote me for the most part, I do it as it is polite and I enjoy having something to type (helps me learn to touch type better and helps kill time while I wait for my new game to arrive)

The only person who is even vaguely worth calling a troll was OP when he attempted to aggravate me.

All in all the title got changed, so I am happy :D and I won't bother posting anymore on this thread as I have replied enough, and the replies have covered enough ground so I doubt there will be another response worth my time :D.
