I hate when people complain about how bad their lives are and yet it's something that is minor. Like when something that hardly even matters happens to someone and they almost get suicidal over it and complain about how bad it is or how bad the place they live in is or how bad the country is.

I think your life just sucks, jk. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that most people tend to think of their lives first. What people don't see, they don't consider.

Anyway suckish lives are relative...If i've failed my uni exams im gonna be pretty disapointed.. dont tell me it doesnt suck just because there are starving children in Africa.

Its all about perspective, unless they're acting like its the end of the universe then im pretty sure they still have reason to complain.

Life sucks for multiple people, just because one guy has it worse it doesn't mean the other guy doesn't still have it pretty bad.

Also: I hate it when people complain about complaining. That was a complaint. If you are an A.I. program I may have just caused you to malfunction, if so, I am sorry.

I see nothing wrong with someone saying that their life sucks. I mean, unless they're saying that they are the center of all suffering in the universe, and that no one has it worse than them, then I say let them be. It's none of your business to tell them that they need to shut up just because there are starving children in Africa. It doesn't mean that person's life doesn't suck, it just means that other people's lives suck more.

I'm generally displeased with life most of the time, but I try not to burden my friends and loved ones with my pessimistic attitude, they don't need to hear that shit they have their own problems. However, this doesn't mean I don't feel guilty about complaining while there is mass infaticide being carried out in Sierra Leone, in fact it exacerbates my self-loathing. So I assume people complaining about their lives are just looking for somewhere to vent, some will try to assuage them others deride them. Shit happens.

What? But MY problems are reall! MY problems are so much more important than YOUR problems because theyre happening to ME! Dont you see? IM affected! Only YOU are affected with your problems, not ME! Therefor MY problems are worse than YOURS!

Thats the standard human mindset - better get used to it because no human ever has cared about other peoples problems more than their own.

when a spoiled rich kid has something bad happen to them, they're probably not use to it, so it seems a lot worse in their eyes,
and it works the other way around for starving african children,

Well I often think about how worse some people have it when I'm feeling depressed about my life.

Like someone else said, our problems aren't diminished because there are starving children in Africa. Some people's lives do indeed suck, and they don't need an AK-47 pointed at their heads to give them the right to say so.

Well, everyone needs to be able to vent a little when their life takes a crappy turn for the worst.
I'm very laid back and when something goes wrong in my life I get over it pretty quickly, but I know that no one likes having their plans change, or their dreams crushed.

So I usually give someone an hour to a few days to get over it (depending on level of suckage) and then try to force them to be more sensitive to others if they're still acting like an ass.

But do you precieve their problems as more urgent than your own? Are their problems something that needs to be taken care of before or after yours? Should people care about you or them?

You may answer in their favour but Im willing to bet youd be lying to yourself. Humans simply see our own problems as more important or urgent because we are the one affected. Its not nessecarely a bad thing, but it does leave a pretty nasty image of humanity as a whole.

My life sucks because my problems are the most important. I've lived my whole life worrying about everyone else's problems but my own and I've never, ever been truly happy. Now? I'm worrying about myself and putting me in front of everyone else. And guess what? My life has improved so much. I'm still deep in depression and have a lot of problems, but its getting better, just in small steps.

Stop complaining that people don't think the way you do. You'll never be happy in life until you understand that no one will ever think exactly like you.

If thats what gets you through tough times then fair enough, but dont complain about others complaining.. especially if you're not trying to do something about the people who have it worse off.
