Quiche? I've never eat that.
I'd eat one, to be honest. I'm hungry.
...
...
I'm hungry.
Anyway, I've never heard about the whole 'unmanliness' of quiche. It's food, how can it possibly be unmanly? It's not even pink...[sub]not that I consider pink as an 'unmanly' color...[/sub] Who can possibly find it unmanly? It's just a pastry for f**k's sake. FOOD. What can be more manly than that?
...
Did I mentioned that I'm hungry?

I've never even heard of quiche until now, I think I saw it once at a pastry store? Sounds yummy.

I just don't like eggs, and the addition of other ingredients to something I don't like to start with doesn't help. My decision not to eat it has nothing to do with societal mores. It's just that it doesn't sound appealing to me.

Cold and jellyfied? Thats not a quiche... quiche contains no gelatin and should be served hot.
I don't mean jellified as in actual jelly, but as in it's soft and mushy and quivering and... well, with jelly-like qualities.

Whenever i've had quiche it's been cold, like out of the fridge. But then i can't say i've ever had a homemade quiche.
I know the stuff you're referring to, and it is wretched. They sell it in supermarkets, it's cold, and it's quite unappetizing to behold.

But! Have homemade quiche. It's significantly better and it isn't hard to make either.

A real man eats whatever it's put on the table, now shut up and eat your Quiche. :D
What this guy said.

Who was the insecure bastard that took his time making a list of foods that would make him look effeminate while eating said foods in the first place?

If your problem is lookin' manly, keep in mind that a man NEEDS food in his system. If you don't feel like a man while eating it I´d say you have two choices:

a) Eat it like a neanderthal/animal
b) Insert more meat or whatever other food you think is generally perceived as manly

"What's this in my plate honey...? A "My little Pony: Friendship is magic cupcake", you say? *NOMNOMNOMNOMNOMONOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM* Seconds! Hurry, I'm hungry!"

It's something bizarre that I keep noticing in popular culture, the idea that a "real man" doesn't eat Quiche. Am I the only one who's never understood this? I mean, it's basically scrambled eggs with cheese, nobody ever sees a problem with that. Can somebody just explain to me when and how we decided it wasn't a "manly" food?
Its not manly because its small. Problem with quiche is it's filled with tiny vegetables, powdery pastry, its not worth eating like that.

That's why, I only eat 'the mans quiche'. Its a long standing, occassional meal my step mother made, its a giant (family meat pie, 20-25cms not sure), is made with pumpkin soup, eggs, lotsa cheese, and big chunks of broccoli, with really good pastry. That's a quiche fit for a man. Those tiny little things? Their just wussy, I don't know, I can't eat those.

you people and your bacon obsession...(ok I absolutely love bacon as well). The Real way to 'man-up' a quiche is to put 1 pound of elk meat + .5 pound of bacon + a onion + the best the cheese world has to offer + 8 eggs = one hell of a manly quiche! boom.

It's because the stereotypical male is shown in pop culture to be an ignoramus and completely incapable of imagination or culture (especially when it comes to cuisine - ironic since the real world employs more men in the position of chef than women).

Also, really, make and eat the quiche I described above...it will change your life.

Quiche is awesome, so freaking delicious...

It's one of my favorite foods, shame I can't eat it too often, what with the egg and cheese... stupid high cholestol

I think it's because it's a French dish, and French stereotypes dictate that the French are anything but manly and are incapable of producing anything as such.
Is it wierd that I read that in Jeremy Clarkson's voice?[/quote]

So did I

I like most foodstuffs, but I haven't had quiche in a while.
I do remember liking it, however.

Food is food.
Drinks are another matter.

Because fuck quiche!
Mostly this.

Mostly because when I get quiche, it tends to be cold and it tastes of 5 year old eggs mixed with the bacon extracted from a fat mans stomach.

I don't like the taste of normal quiche, but in my culinary class i made something called taco quiche, and it was an amazing blend of flavors that almost made me splooge (not really)

I don't eat it because I really don't like egg based dishes. Also real men call it egg pie.

I feel the same way about quiche. No how, no way is that texture anything but disgusting.

Although as a woman, I don't know how valid my claim to manliness even is.

Quiche is fucking fabulous.
It must just be too fabulous for me. I think it's gross, we used to always have quiche as the main dish at my mom's family Easter lunch, but in the last two years or so there has been pasta as well.
