Isn't this form of social acceptance a kind of delusion?GreyWolf257 said:We want social acceptance from the comfort of our own homes.
Yes, but humans, as imperfect beings with emotion, need some sort of comfort and solidity to hold on to. If it is a delusion, so be it. That doesn't mean they are lesser of a human being.Stranger of Sorts said:Isn't this form of social acceptance a kind of delusion?GreyWolf257 said:We want social acceptance from the comfort of our own homes.
aah how I dream of obtaining wit, maybe if I keep on quoting people I'll steal some of theirs.GrinningManiac said:OT: I ask myself this every day
I suppose it's because I want to be recognised and appreciated by an international community of some sort, and I like showing off my (poor) wit
Absolutely, but you don't see anyone complaining.Stranger of Sorts said:Isn't this form of social acceptance a kind of delusion?GreyWolf257 said:We want social acceptance from the comfort of our own homes.
That would be because they are deluded then.GreyWolf257 said:Absolutely, but you don't see anyone complaining.Stranger of Sorts said:Isn't this form of social acceptance a kind of delusion?GreyWolf257 said:We want social acceptance from the comfort of our own homes.

I shall answer them both, in my opinion (however insignificant it may be) delusion is perfectly fine until you realise you are deluded, where upon it is not.TheNumber1Zero said:And that's bad because...?
Why is that so wrong, to know one is deluded? As long as it does no harm, then it is perfectly fine, no?Stranger of Sorts said:GreyWolf257 said:Your point is?I shall answer them both, in my opinion (however insignificant it may be) delusion is perfectly fine until you realise you are deluded, where upon it is not.TheNumber1Zero said:And that's bad because...?
Umm, okay... the fact is, people like to be in a place where they can have "quasi-friends," or people who they can make contact with whenever they want, rather than when they have to. It adds another layer to the social chart, becoming another set of people with which one can interact with, especially when real-life friends cannot be contacted (for example, your best friend is taking a trip to Uruguay, so you use forum friends as a substitute). Is that better? It is basically the same thing, but with prettier wording.Stranger of Sorts said:GreyWolf257 said:Your point is?I shall answer them both, in my opinion (however insignificant it may be) delusion is perfectly fine until you realise you are deluded, where upon it is not.TheNumber1Zero said:And that's bad because...?
I say this sums it up for me, too.Aura Guardian said:Because forums are awesome and sometimes, the people are great.
I'm afraid I have to go so cannot think of anything logical to say to that, so for now, you win number1Zero! But I will be back one day with equally arduous questions!TheNumber1Zero said:Why is that so wrong, to know one is deluded?
