And yet poor actors are criticized if their portrayal is not suitably real, or if it is too obvious they are acting or if they are just playing themselves, not the character etc.zehydra said:It's boring, and it sells itself as reality. So you never watch a movie that's 'based on a true story' then? Or one of the ones that claims to be the 'true story' of King arthur/Robin Hood/insert fictional character here? Or reenact x hitorical battle/event?zehydra said:It's boring, and it sells itself as reality. I hate things that sell themselves as reality, but are blatantly false. you should try watching something other than TNA then, cause that's not really true of faces in the wwe not named randy orton.Shadu said:It's too loud, too boistereous and too crude for my taste. And this is not coming from someone who particularly enjoys movies like that.
The storylines are stupid and dull, and the acting is so laughably horrible that, if it were trying to be a legit movie, it would be a box office flop.
All the "characters" seem to do is blow out their front teeth, and that's just annoying.
And I could forgive all of that, really, if it weren't for the fact that everyone on those shows lies, cheats, and steals. Even the so-called good guys. Who the heck am I supposed to be routing for? They're all unlikable pricks. And really, little kids are watching this, and if their idol does all that an more, what kind of a message is that sending to the kids?
There's a big difference between "selling itself as reality" and "obeying their own rules". What you call selling itself as being real I call 'playing along with itself'. It'd be pretty shit if the commentators sat there going "and Cena throws a couple of pretend right hands while stomping the mat to simulate the noise, and now his opponent is going to jump into the air to simulate Cena picking him up in a body slam".zehydra said:It's boring, and it sells itself as reality. The sad thing is, it's credible. If that news broke tomorrow, I can't honestly say I would be completely surprised.[/quote]Antitonic said:TNA is owned by the WWE. TNA is basically the WWE's farm system. They won't admit it until they have the giant TNA vs. WWE storyline at the end of this year, but it is true.
Actually considering the amount of macho straight men who watch it, it's not a heterosexuality thing, it's an insecurity thing. That's my first instinct at least. I'm probably wrong, but I've encountered such attitudes before and it's just my immediate assumption.devilkingx said:but i guess thats just this annoying little thing we call HETEROSEXUALITY
My dad watches all of it. TNA, WWE, all of it. And my opinion remainns unchanged. It all hits me about like this. We quite literally have wrestling on almost every single night of the week, and it all is the same to me. I see no difference in the factions.Sutter Cane said:you should try watching something other than TNA then, cause that's not really true of faces in the wwe not named randy orton.Shadu said:It's too loud, too boistereous and too crude for my taste. ...are you one of those people who thinks that all problems can be solved "non violently" by "using your words"? because thats the second stupidest thing anyone could believe, the stupidest is "world peace"FC Groningen said:I have many reasons to hate it, but most of all, it glorifies fighting. i dont want to watch men barely wearing clothes rolling around on each other and getting sweaty, its really gay, it'd be fine if they were really fighting but since no one actually gets hurt and they arent really fighting its really really gayReservoirAngel said:Actually considering the amount of macho straight men who watch it, it's not a heterosexuality thing, it's an insecurity thing. Sorry if I'm wrong, I mean no offence of any kind.
Though it's not exactly easing watching it as a gay dude either. The amount of times I've been told "you only watch it for the half-naked men" is enough that I'm considering just punching whoever says it from this point forward.
....what the hell is wrong with you? a fight is boring!?!?!? do you live in a freaking ghetto(where you'd see 3 fights a day) or something?Get_A_Grip_ said:I think it's boooooooring.
If I wanted to see two guys beat the shit out of each other I'd just wait outside one of the local pubs.
thats every show in existance, only the good characters are ever shown(good usually meaning main)TheDooD said:I hate how it gone from a really fast paced unexpected product into something bland, predictable and overly kid friendly. I also can't stand how they only use like 8 people all year long while there's like 20+ guys in the back that only do dark matches and arena events. Years back everybody even the low tier guys got decent rivalries, matches and used on the main shows.
