I don't hate pro wrestling. I quite enjoy it. Sometime the storylines are a little odd or drag on a lot but that's just part of the show. It's no different to watching a Soap every week except there's wrestling involved.

It's boring, and it sells itself as reality. I hate things that sell themselves as reality, but are blatantly false. Movies don't sell themselves as truth, they sell themselves as enjoyable fiction.
And yet poor actors are criticized if their portrayal is not suitably real, or if it is too obvious they are acting or if they are just playing themselves, not the character etc.
I expect realism in movies, but that's all it is, realism, not actually real.

So you never watch a movie that's 'based on a true story' then? Or one of the ones that claims to be the 'true story' of King arthur/Robin Hood/insert fictional character here? Or reenact x hitorical battle/event?

Man you must not watch a lot of movies. :p
No, I don't mind movies based off of true stories, but I know that what I'm seeing still didn't happen, it's an attempt at recreating what happened.

Because it's a cheap gushing drama soap opera and nothing more, but mostly because 99% of the audience seem to believe it's real... seriously people... you aren't 5 anymore and here is a shocker Santa is also not real!

If you actually are 5 disregard that last statement.

I think the problem people have with wrestling being fake is it's all about competition. The action is awesome, but it'd be nice to go into something and fully enjoy it without having to know that the winner was predetermined.

At least... I think that's how it works... I use to watch wrestling as a kid and loved it, when I found out it was fake I was really disheartened and haven't really watched it since. I'd still love to see a match once in a while, but I just don't find the same thrill knowing that it's all planned out.

I hate how it gone from a really fast paced unexpected product into something bland, predictable and overly kid friendly. I also can't stand how they only use like 8 people all year long while there's like 20+ guys in the back that only do dark matches and arena events. Years back everybody even the low tier guys got decent rivalries, matches and used on the main shows.
thats every show in existance, only the good characters are ever shown(good usually meaning main)
What about stables, cruiserweights and tag teams they're basically nonexistent these days in WWE. It's basically the same 8 guys rotating rivalries every year. back then normally singles matches were only for the biggest rivalries and or when it was gonna be a well worked match. Not to waste time with botches and squash matches. They use to change it up having tag teams, and or cruisers show off their skill to entertain the crowd. WWE can't write a decent story for a stables because the most recent ones fall apart within months even weeks of their creations.

I have many reasons to hate it, but most of all, it glorifies fighting. I don't think there is anything glorious or honorable in fighting and if you resort to it, you're forced to it and just plain defend yourself.
I don't think any reasonable person believes actual fights are a good thing, but fighting for sport is pretty harmless... Well, harmless to the audience.

And as a side note, I can't stand MMA fights. They are soooooooo boring! I get that they are real and difficult and take a lot of skill and blah blah blah, but watching it sucks. There's no sensationalism, and it almost always devolves into a grappling match on the floor. With (good) wrestling at least you have the entertainment factor along with crazy ass not-real-but-still-awesome moves.

1) I'm actually a loyal fan of pro-wrestling since WCW War Games: '92...my first WWE PPV was Summerslam 94 ('Taker vs 'Taker)...

2) I'm WELL KNOWN among my own lil' cirlce (see also: th'bar i (and my girlfriend) frequent every month t'watch the WWE PPV's...(even found out recently they made a drinking-game around me *beam*)

3) I got lucky in love in th'fact that my girlfriend is just as avid a fan as me...i'm still plannin' on buying a couple of WWE Tag-Title belts as an anniversary gift at some point (she's already told me that she'd love 'em)...And in our 3 years together, we've taken 3 out-of-town trips....all of 'em were wrestling related (WWE Raw in Charlotte, Wrestlemania 26 in AZ, and Hardcore Justice (last year) in Orlando to watch the ECW Originals)...

4) I've made a couple YouTube vids sayin' some of my views on it:

No. No we don't. I think any wrestling fan above the age of 5 realises it's scripted entertainment. I've not met a single wrestling fan who believes it's real.

If I want to watch guys beat each other up, I'll watch UFC. If I want a story, I'll read a book.
Don't like wrestling that much

I enjoy it. It's stupid, it's kinda trashy sometimes, but it's fun.

I don't like reality TV shows, either. Then again, 80% of the people who watch them seem to hate them. Honestly, I think people just like to look down on people and act disgusted. Reality TV is awesome for that.

I don't have much of a problem with wrestling in any form, I just don't enjoy it that much. Although I did enjoy Hulk Hogan in everything he does. I grew up watching that guy dressing as Santa and beating up guys.

Not only that, it's a stupid reason not to like anything. the big blockbuster movies we pay to see every summer? Guess what? That's not real
You mean...Lord of the Rings wasn't a documentary on the origins of New Zealand?

I thought it was real when I was 9...now I feel stupid. :p

But yeah, I enjoy it nowadays, even though I can only watch TNA, which isn't too bad. Still camp, over the top fun. Plus Sting's recent dissent into "madness" has been entertaining as any TV show I've watched lately.

...are you one of those people who thinks that all problems can be solved "non violently" by "using your words"? because thats the second stupidest thing anyone could believe, the stupidest is "world peace"
? Yes, i dislike violence and I managed to avoid any physical fight so far, but that isn't relevant here. My point is that IF you fight, you do it because you must, not for show.

I don't hate it. I used to watch it all the time.

Admittedly, I haven't been watching for a while, because the storylines got like offensively stupid and the action wasn't anywhere as good as it should have been. Basically, I can just remember times where it was way better.

People who hate wrestling are convinced that they think they're supposed to believe it's real, is usually my impression.

For me, it's good old fashioned fun to see guys jump around and get hit.

I can understand why some people like it, but I just don't.
This is why I only watch matches online, I hate watching all the "drama" going on. I still watch matches if it involves a wrestler I enjoy, Mick Foley being my favorite. I also wished they would not zoom the camera in so close so you can see the fake hits the wrestlers make.

I like some of the cheesiness in it too, like every time The Undertaker is resurrected, or when Mick Foley goes completely insane and switches to his personality of Cactus Jack.
