Indeed, yet I find it hard to find a progressive rock song that glorifies the strength of character it takes to hold someone at gunpoint and take their belongings in a validation of one's own badassery.

Don't get me wrong, if I see a black dude wearing an [Adult Swim] shirt, I assume we could be best buds.
Yes, but anyone can rap... black, white, asian, whatever.
Indeed. And as shown by Will Smith, rapping doesn't have to be about guns, crime, drugs, violence, sexism or the like. It can be about life, joy, pride of one's children, dealing with hardships... it all comes down to the artist and how s/he chooses to move the audience.

The reason I hate racism is because it is just idiots forming opinions and prejudices against people before they even know them.

I think it's totally okay to hate someone of a different race because they're annoying, or an asshole, or psychotic, or really lazy, or they do nothing but complain, or they banged your girlfriend, or any other reason someone can deserve hatred. But I think hating someone BECAUSE they are a different race is stupid.

You don't know them yet, you have nothing to base hatred off of. Give people of different races, creeds, and cultures the same chance to know them as you would anyone who is of the same race, creed, or culture as you. That way you're more likely to find people you truly relate to.

Plus, if you then decide that yes, you really do hate somebody, you'll have much more valid reasons to hate them, making you feel far more justified in your opinion. And when you try to explain or justify your hatred to other people, they won't just immediately think you're a racist and start hating you.

Oh, and when people online use racism? That's just trolling. Respond to it if you wish, Pwn them if you can, and accept that on the internet, people will be so emboldened by their unrestrained anonymity that they will say absolutely anything to get a reaction, no matter what that reaction may be.

Good, we have an example of an outlier in rap music that isn't about b*tches-cash-cars, even if it is so painfully "pop" that it barely qualifies.

Why do you think rap lyrics are by and large so self-glorifying, hateful, and survivalist?

I agree with you.

Hate the culture and actions, not the people.

Racism is just a way to weed out the biggots in society who believe stereotyping is real.

although I do admit to having a guilty bit of fun of making fun of stereotyping with a close group of friends.

but we all do it because we know that 99% of it is false and it is a bit funny

I think I just contradicted myself in my own reply

Actually, I was trying to say that it's completely okay to hate the people (or more likely the person), but it's not okay to hate the people just because they are "the people". That, and that you have to know someone before you can truly and legitimately hate them.

Right-o.

Black dude at a Street Fighter IV tournament = Initially judged awesome, awesomeness is pending further investigation.

Black dude rollin' down the street with pants to the knees and shirt to the thighs = judged GTFAFM, until otherwise shown civil/mature.

If it looks, acts, and sounds like a threat, I'm not going to welcome it until it shows me otherwise. THAT'S JUST STRAIGHT-UP, SON! No BS!

These are initial judgments, again, pending further investigation.

Also, we all know British blacks are except from this ruling, as are African immigrants.

It is one of the myriad forms of ignorance, all of which grate on me like salt in an open wound.
I'm going to go ahead and say that you're bullshitting us to sound noble, and have no real experience with racism in order to garner a reply from you, because asking you to simply expand on this lofty, feathery, go-with-the-herd statement is too boring.
Beginning requested reply:

You are a douche bag.

Let that sink in a moment....

We will now explore the width an breadth of your douchebaggery. First, you are ignorant. That annoys me. For you to describe what I said, and let us use your phrasing here, as it was just [em]so[/em] damn eloquent, as "lofty, feathery, go-with-the-herd" and claim that I was "trying to bullshit" you displays a certain lack of intelligence on your end. Perhaps the my wording was cliched, but it got the point across. I will rephrase it more plainly for you:

When I encounter the kind of willful ignorance required for an individual to believe that skin color determines a person's worth, I get viscerally angry. Ignorance is at the root of many of the the problems in the world, and it is the duty of all rational beings to eradicate it, first in themselves, and then in others.

For you to object to this strongly enough to call me a liar brings into question your knowledge of the world. What I believe you are suffering from is a case of big-fish-small-pond syndrome. After having read through some of your previous posts, I am forced to the conclusion that you think that you understand the world. I would urge you to examine the source of that misplaced belief and remove it, before you make an even bigger ass of yourself.

Calling me a liar. That is what really pissed me off about your post. You see, by saying that, you displayed your own ignorance by assuming that a complete stranger couldn't possibly have more life experience than what you consider acceptable. Never call someone a liar unless you have absolute proof.

I would have honestly preferred a civilized and productive discussion about the influence of racism in today's society. Unfortunately, you chose instead to antagonize me, and by making me angry, caused me to waste my time writing back, which has only served to piss me off more.

By the by, I live in Alabama, and I think that qualifies me to speak about racism. Think before post.

Whoo! You're a spicy Dorito! =D

1.) Why am I ignorant? You didn't say =/.
2.) "Displays a certain lack of intelligence"... How?

You speak words, but sir, the reports have come back negative for substance. HOW DO YOU PLEAD?!

When I encounter the kind of willful ignorance required for an individual to believe that skin color determines a person's worth, I get viscerally angry. Ignorance is at the root of many of the the problems in the world, and it is the duty of all rational beings to eradicate it, first in themselves, and then in others.
Goodness, skin color determining worth... That does sound awful. GIVE ME THE NAME OF WHO'S DOING THIS AND I'LL ASSIST YOU IN PANTSING THE OFFENDER!

For you to object to this strongly enough to call me a liar brings into question your knowledge of the world. What I believe you are suffering from is a case of big-fish-small-pond syndrome. After having read through some of your previous posts, I am forced to the conclusion that you think that you understand the world. Context: You saying racism grates you like salt in a wound is what I was calling bullshit, and I was being completely honest when I "to get you to respond". It was a reverse-troll and you took it seriously despite that =/...

Well, real-world experience, mixing and mingling with all types of people, is the basis for my beliefs. SoOoOo... good luck convincing me I need to change. Again, I was calling you a liar facetiously in order to get you to hopefully expand on YOUR experiences, which you have NOT unfortunately.

Before I make a bigger ass of myself? Heavens-to-Betsy, how corrosive must you be?! Your bladed tongue severs the arteries from my self-esteem's heart! My fragile ego is bleeding to death.

Calling me a liar. That is what really pissed me off about your post. You see, by saying that, you displayed your own ignorance by assuming that a complete stranger couldn't possibly have more life experience than what you consider acceptable. Unless you're on a message board and people need to be provoked to give detailed responses.

I would have honestly preferred a civilized and productive discussion about the influence of racism in today's society. Unfortunately, you chose instead to antagonize me, and by making me angry, caused me to waste my time writing back, which has only served to piss me off more.
I'm sorry you spent all that time attacking me back instead of talking about the issue, too.

I just wish you saw through the reverse-troll and gave reasons for why you feel how you do. Now I'm left to twiddle my thumbs; my views unchallenged by you =/...

By the by, I live in Alabama, and I think that qualifies me to speak about racism. Think before post.
Well, being a human alone qualifies you to talk about racism... So why didn't YOU?

Sorry for the long pause, I was watching Indiana Jones and the Lost Ark. Well, now that my righteous indignation has been pulled out from under me, I find myself at somewhat of a loss over what to say. My experience has shown the those with racist inclinations are engaging in disgusting intellectual and moral laziness. It is just so damn easy to choose not to think, to simply cling to beliefs that hurt others, rather than learning from mistakes and forcing a change in world view. I don't believe that we are arguing at all, I I hope that what I am trying to say makes sense. I'm signing off now.

I don't hate racism. It's just part of life neither good or bad as long as it stays in the forms of jokes and small things. Killing/raping people for being another race is too much but ya, jokes and shit really don't bother me at all. Fuck everyone is racist anyway and anyone who denies it is a fucking liar.
Oh and the few "tolerant" people I have met when I happily admit I am racist and sexist they don't even think to ask why. Most just call me a "bigoted nazi" Isn't that being racist too?
That's not being racist... That's being intolerent of other peoples beliefs.
darkless said:
I hate racism simply for the fact they consider people with different skin a different race but they aren't they are human there are no different races in humanity simply people with darker skin because of evolution of where they were born.
You seriously don't know the definiton of "race"... Fiction has corrupted your mind
aswiftlytiltingreality said:
It's ignorant and people who are racist need to realize that just because another person's skin is a different color than their's doesn't mean they any better or worse or different where it really counts and they need to start judging them for the person they are rather than by the way they look.
Wait
You just said just because they have a different color they aren't different? Please don't contridict your self you intolerent skum

I hate racism because it's a stick to beat the white man with. Too many lies are told in modern education to 'big up' other races and to portray white people as a mixture of demons, thieves, and pedophiles. This is all bullshit. White people have nothing to be ashamed of.
Exactly what I'd EXPECT a white devil to say to try and cover his cleft-hoof tracks.

How many brothers did you loan-shark today with outrageous interest rates so he could feed his family?

How long has it been since your last KKK meeting? Promoted to Grand Wizard, yet?

Go back to Alabama. We don't take kindly to your ilk here.
Was that sarcasm? Because if it wasn't, and I wasn't in Austraila. I'd attempt bash the shit out of you, and then I'd be seen by a cop, the cop would pull out a night stick and I'd pull out a pair of tonfa. Then I'd start running away from the cop with my arms flailing, while running away I try to go through a door but end up braking my own arms. Then the cop would stare at my wounded body in a moment of aquidness and then arrest me... THAT IS WHAT I'D DO TO YOU

I hate racisme because there's no point, no goal and no logic in it. Why would you enslave someone with a diffirent skincolor? Why would you kill native americans because there skin is a different color.
ONE QUESTION AT A TIME.
Here is why I'd enslave someone with a different skincolor.
They owe me money, they are in DEBT to me, they WORK for me and I might reward them. Another reason to enslave some one is they offered a good price and how can I say no to a bargan?

I have no problem with native americans AKA red necks and republicans.. As most native americans are white, like me so they don't have a different skin color.
My best friend is half native american as his mother came from I think texas or some other southern state, while I have never met his Australian father.
So shut up... Most Native Americans or "red necks" or "republicans" are infact white... LIVE WITH IT.
Wow, it seems douchebaggery is at an all time high in your house. I'm not intolerant. I personally don't give two shit about someone else's skin color. What I do have a problem with is being called intolerant scum. Especially by someone who just wants to insult everyone. I said "different where it counts". I didn't mean we're all exactly the same. We all have similarities. However, I gather from your post that the idea was to bash people for stating their opinions warp their words to fit your own definitions.

Oh, and congratulations on not hating red necks, republicans, and native americans. However, as one of those republicans you don't seem to have a problem with, I'm confused as to why you would call me intolerant scum.
It was a joke.
Cause Native American = Caucasian, sorry if I pissed you off
EDIT: I tried to be inclusive when I mentioned republicans, as the vast majority of them are borne in the USA, and I said red necks because I didn't want to actually say the word "white" when describing native americans in a failed double ontondra.
I'm a conservative (I.E part of the Australian Liberal Party), oh wait, maybe I am just making things worse..

Surely a thread on "why do you love racism?" is a going to provoke more discussion and pointless pontification. Is there going to be anybody here who will claim anything more interesting than anecdotal diatribe? I don't like racism because it doesn't give people a chance. However, in the amount of times I've been mugged - the majority of it has been at the hands of 15 or so Lebanese boys. Is it racist if I steer clear of them in the street? No. Is it racist if I don't buy a house in a Lebanese area? No. The fact is, race is often mixed with economic standing, and economic standing is relative to crime. I'm saying "avoid the poor people who always mug me due to inexplicable social and masculinity issues" which in this case translates to "ah, don't go down there mate, there are tonnes of lebs." A group of people with a distinct nationality are an easier identifier. That's why "lads/chavs" are called "lads/chavs". They may be white, but we've named them to identify them.

Something I do find ironic though, is the way the "n" word has somehow become paradoxically cool and evil. Double standards are a bizarre thing.
Now for my soon to be trade marked extremest speech
If we don't let whites use the word "nigro" then we have to do the oppisite to blacks... BAN THEM FROM SAYING THE WORD "BLANCO"
Infact bann all colours from being said in spanish, for every one. Can't say Nigro if you're black or white, can't say Blanco if you're white or black. Sounds fair?
