Apart from the 3 C's. Convenience, Compatibility, and Cost. Though if you can put up with these or don't mind budget PC's without all the bells and whistles, PC is undeniably for you.

OT: I use PC and 360, with the 360 acting as emulator for my old XBOX era games with compatibility issues and for multiplats where my 360 playing friends will make for better gaming chums than my PC playing friends.
My PC is convenient. I need a PC anyway for other tasks--I don't see a 360 helping me with a research paper, remote support, or putting a presentation together.

My PC is compatible. It runs Windows XP.

And my PC didn't cost much: $400 initial build with $100 video upgrade several months ago.

;)

I don't even own a console, and haven't since the 16-bit era. (Anyone want an Atari Lynx?)

I mostly play on my PC, because I usually don't have access to the TV with the rest of my family usually watching something. So I never bothered to buy a 360 or PS3. Most of their exclusives dont really interest me anyway.

Seriously though, I like being able to customize hardware and mod my games. Also Steam makes buying and playing games so convenient.

I play my Xbox360 because that's the console all my friends are on. I dabble on the PS3 and PC but it's just not the same without my Frrraaannnddss.

I like xbox360 the best because the games, controller and xbox live. I might choose PC but I hate PC controls and it is to easy to use hacks/mods on PC games.

PC for all the reasons already posted, plus I love putting these things together, and messing around with them. Hobby really.

Uh... you know you can just plug a 360, or PS3 controller into the PC? No?

I prefer my PS2 because I'm not a consistent enough gamer to make any of the latest-gen consoles worth my time and money. That said, it does have an awesome library of games, and it's now very cheap to pick up the good ones second hand.

My DS Lite is really only here to play Pokemon and Professor Layton games :p

were it not for funds, i would probably be exclusively a pc gamer. i discovered this after purchasing the orange box after trading my absolutely awful pc for a slightly above average laptop (nowhere near a gaming laptop or anything) and discovering how much fucking better mouse control really is. returning to fallout 3 on my PS3 after completing the half lives all i could think about was how much i wanted to just run up and cap everyone in the forehead instead of using vats every 4 seconds because F3's console controls are so awful.

unfortunately the orange box and similar is about the height of what i can run. i bought amnesia the dark descent but my graphics card can't handle it, so back to tf2 i go.

anyway, i prefer the PS3 because i had a PS2 as a child and feel somewhat loyal to sony. online services are free and i don't have to buy extra shit to get wifi and play dvd's. so other than that i feel the Xbox and Playstation are pretty inter-changeable.

PC- Games are cheaper and have mods and are often better.
PS3- Because it didn't die like 7 other of my 360's
GBA/PSP- Because the DS and 3DS have features I dislike and no games that interest me.

If you haven't figured it out I really have no favorite.

I love my PC, there's so many graphical capabilities and modifications to be done that are far superior to consoles, if you can afford it.

I prefer the 360 because it has the most comfortable controller (for my hands anyway), because I got into Gamerscore before trophies were even a thing, because more of my friends are on Live rather than PSN, and because my 2 favorite franchises are on 360 (Dead Rising and Halo)(yes I know DR2 was on both, but DR1 and the 2 downloadable mini chapters are 360 only).

Also, the Dual Shock controller design was never all that comfortable to me. Even when Sony was my primary console (PS1 era). Of course I still own the PS3 because there are too many great games I'd miss if I only owned 1 console. But if I have a choice, I'll pick 360.

The 360 mostly because the controller feels better in my hands. Every time I've used a Sixaxis the analog sticks feel so loose and the L2/R2 buttons are so flat my fingers end up either sliding off of them or when I set the controller down trigger them accidentally. Also, the LIVE service was better at first. The only thing I really don't like about the 360 was the high fail rate of the early systems. I've gone through 5 in 8 years, thank God for extended warranties.

Depends on my mood, I don't have a most played. Lately all I have been playing is my ps3/360, other times, my PC/ps3, or just PC. It depends on the game I want to play.

That took long to be uncivilized.

I prefer the 360 because I like the ease of use and the controller for it. Also, it had the continuation of my favourite series (Splinter Cell) where the PS3 did not. Overall, I just picked the machine that had the most exclusives that I liked.

Personally I am in a transitional phase of my life. I started out as a console gamer, and gradually I migrated over to PC gaming. I have shifted back and forth for years and I am in the process of moving out of a PC gaming phase and into what seems to be a console gaming phase again.

So the most effective way I might answer, is to justify every platform I use.
PC: Windows
I would say the versatility of it. The ability to tweak specific settings be it from in game contextual menus, modding tools, or overwriting system files. There is a lot more freedom with PC games to get it just exactly how you want it, as opposed to adapting and accepting someone elses opinion on what works best. You can also adjust a game to fit your rigs performance vs your own personal priorities.

Also its what possibilities it presents. You want to play a Japanese game not released in english? You can do that. You want to Play a simple flash game or a game designed into a screen saver? you can do that. You want to play a triple A title? you can do that. In essence, with enough patience, know how and money there is almost nothing that the PC doesnt have the potential to do. It might not be able to play certain console games, but if ported it certainly could handle it.

Console: 360
The 360 was my first current gen system and with such Its also where my largest library of console games exist. Basically the reason I enjoy it is the extensive library it has amassed between it as well as the original xbox. I dont play online multiplayer often (I have had my profile enabled with XBL Gold stat I think a max of 4 months since 2007-8 when I got my first 360.) but I do find that if you overlook the billing aspect of it, that the 360 has a slight edge on online gaming in that its presentation and application are more intuitive, streamlined and effective. Obviously pay to play sucks, and the funny money deal is stupid (though it CAN get you certain content cheaper than buying it outright if you do it correctly) but all in all the 360 is a cornerstone in my gaming life.

Also.. the 360 controller is as close to gaming input perfection as you can get. It holds the perfect balance of logical and intuitive design, weight and heft, durability, ergonomics, and most importantly versatility. To me it is the single best input device for ANY platform since the Snes default controller or perhaps the NES Max

PS3
Now, for what the 360 has in quantity the PS3 seemingly has made up for in quality. It is home to my single most favored game of this entire console generation. Demon's Souls. For all of the problems with things like Sony, and at one time having a lack of games, and the loss of backwards compatibility, from what I have seen from the PS3 catalog has been high quality games of a more mature and a much more varied level. 360s biggest strength is obviously in its online multiplayer and what predominantly supports the online multiplayer is shooters. So it feels like at times that the 360 is a "shooters" console. Whereas the PS3 has some great games out. Demon's SOuls, an RPG, Little Big Planet a sandbox building game, Infamous and god of war as action oriented game, Heavy Rain a interactive narrative, God of War, Uncharted is a pure adventure game, MGS is a stealth game. There just feels like their exclusive hits come from a wider background.

Also, yes, having free multiplayer access is certainly a plus.

As should be the only answer to this question: The Games.

I prefer to play on the 360 because it has the most games for it that I enjoy playing. It's not "the best," either objectively or subjectively. It's simply, when I feel like playing a game, the system that is most likely to have the game on it that I want to play.
