PS3, because:

- Good experience with Playstation and Sony in general
- I like the exclusives (I mainly bought it for MGS4)
- Free online
- Friends have PS3's

PC due to generally better graphics and processing power. Outside of that, I absolutely love being able to mod games if tools are available!

Although my one problem with it is that the current gen games that aren't exclusives are poorly optimized. That's partly why I have an Xbox 360 as well.
On the other hand, a huge number of the cross-platform games that get PC releases are UE3-based, and they tend to have absurdly low requirements. I can still run the majority of console ports/cross-platform releases maxed out at 1920x1200 on my Radeon 4770 these days, even though it's a mid-range card that cost me $100 two years ago. It's kind of ridiculous.

PSN comes with the purchase of the ps3, which means I can spend more money on games rather than playing online. However, the irritatingly traditional symmetrical controller is a pain - and the xbox controller is satisfyingly ergonomic...
But overall the ps3 holds a special place in my heart <3

I play PC because I got a PC and PC games. I play wii when my mates want to play local mutliplayer and a lot of my mates online play pc and so we play there.

If I had a 360 with 360 games I would probally play that
If I had a ps3 with ps3 games I would probally play that
If I had a game boy with games I would probally play that

Its not rocket science. If you have the consol and games for it you play with that. The only difference is on my pc I am swapping out hardware every now and then and still played games that were out ages ago as apose to buying a new unit that may or maynot play my old games.

Why did I go for a PC to begin with? I don't know maybe it was because that is what I was given first. If I was given a play station things might have been different. It also had the nice justification I could do my home work on it as well.

Why do you prefer your most played platform? I don't.
I want to play on a PC but I don't have a good one. Actually, I have a 5 year old mac. It's terrible, I know.
The only up-to-date console I have is my 360, which is ok I guess, but I'd much prefer to have the flexibility and beauty of a spanking new gaming PC.

I prefer PC:

- Higher graphical fidelity
- Keyboard/Mouse (with the possibility of connecting a controller if I want to)
- Steam sales
- Mods
- Tinkerability

PC, because it's objectively superior on every criteria you could possibly judge a gaming platform on.
I hate to be super technical. But this is always loaded with all sorts of perspectives. Saying PC in this area of discussion has all sorts of things that come meshed with it and by association, all sorts of perspectives about emulation, piracy, and so forth.

I hate to be super technical and all that, again. But I feel like I want to bring up the whole pedantic fact over whether a console is a PC, again. Console are pretty clearly a computer. I don't know if it would be a "personal" computer. But the Nintendo Entertainment System was once called the "family computer" and had a keyboard for it.

Really, what people seem to be saying here when they say "PC is better than the console", is that the DIY Windows or possibly Linux platform offer more options. Usually citing the ability to upgrade. Rather, being able to upgrade and it go along with the software is the only difference here. "Consoles" aren't made for Windows, and you certainly can't upgrade them and get the only thing the hardware was packed for only. You can, on the other hand, put Linux on several consoles. And some version of Windows has even existed for some of them. So certainly consoles verily border on not just being computers, but being a "personal" computer. Certainly if laptops are a personal computer, so are consoles.

Also, even if you just mean Windows or possibly Linux when you say "PC gaming is superior". Most of the Windows library is pretty limited, in terms of games specifically made for it. Japanese developers have rarely even touched the platform. Leaving the PC with a pretty limited library in terms of flavor. Sure, there may be around 5,000 or more made for Windows as a software. But it's still remarkably limited in terms of how much software is specifically made for it, especially if you consider how old the Windows software platform is. If you try to use emulation as a way to expand the Windows or "PC" library and tack on all history of consoles to say that the PC truly "creams" console gaming, bumping up the number of "Windows" titles to around 30,000, including almost everything except the XBOX360 and PlayStation 3 exclusives. I isn't something the PC was "intended" for, every bit as much as consoles weren't "intended" for Linux, which can game given enough effort and expertise and hold as well the entire Windows library. Emulation of consoles is something that most console companies are still at least mildly uncomfortable with, even if done entirely legally. And have in response created their own emulation, on consoles. One of the few Japanese or console companies to put their material for "PC" download instead of console, is Sega. Which has always been a more Western aiming company than Nintendo.

Windows and Linux are personally my favourite platforms because of versatility. But that versatility means I'm not playing by the rules so to speak. And forcing it to be the awesome platform. Companies don't like smart people, companies don't like people who emulate. Or mod, or record and upload to youtube.

So while the PC may be technically superior, in terms of versatility and being a culmination of exactly what you want. You have to push moral boundaries for it to be a superior system in any way.

And saying "PC gaming is superior" either means one or several of a few things when people say it. "Copyright infringement is awesome", "Western gaming is superior", "Graphical fidelity is important", or the like. Most of which are pretty contestable statements.

Guess which crowd I'm a part of.

While i play Pc a lot for the reasons already stated in previous posts, I guess my favourite platform would be consoles, mostly becuase they have a wider gamma of games and genres.
I definetly love my Ps2, It's a console with such a huge gaming library i doubt i'll ever fully see and it has many many gems in that massive gaming library

I a pretty much well-spread, Xbox for the exclusives and xbox live (Many assholes, but also all my mates), PS3 again for exclusives and for some better performance. And then the PC because it's a bloody PC there are many, many, many reasons to have one that you probably know aswell.

Maybe your's is, but not all PCs are the same. I highly doubt that games would be as good on my mum's seven year-old PC as they are on my Xbox 360. PCs are not a single entity, unlike consoles; one person's console is th same as the next person's, so it's possible to make blanket statements about them, but you can't really do the same with PCs.

That being said, Steam runs on PCs, and I like the idea of having the option of hundreds of games for ridiculously cheap prices. To be honest, every gaming platform has its advantages and disadvantages, there isn't a 'best' platform.

Personally, I prefer my Xbox 360 because it's the only gaming station that I own. I imagine that if I had a PS3 I would love that too, and the same goes for a PC. I just happen to own a 360 because it was the cheapest option available to me when I bought it. Haven't regretted my purchase.

The PC is just about all I use now, but it still doesn't compare to the massive portions of my life I spent on my Gamecube playing Soulcalibur 2, Super Smash Brothers Melee, and Twilight Princess.

I have a PS2, a Wii and a PC, and the PC is what I play on 99.9% of the time. Even if I had a 360 or a PS3 I don't know if I'd play them all that often. I enjoy being alone (which I always am at home) when I'm playing on the PC, whereas with consoles I prefer to have someone to talk to while I play.

I'd like to have a controller that frikken works properly on my computer though. [sub][sup][sub]Godsdamn piece of gamestop piece of useless shit...[/sub][/sup][/sub]
You could use an XBOX 360 controller on your PC.
I could, but I'm not going to pay what amounts to over 40 US dollars for one measly controller. So I'm going to whine about it instead =P

PC. I prefer it for a whole load of reasons. You can do so much at the same time that isn't just limited to gaming, the control scheme allows for more depth & complexity (and if you don't like it you can plug in any number of controllers so long as they're usb compatible / have an adapter) and many games have hundreds of thousands of mods made for them that extend the lifetime of that game and sometimes even create completely new games.

I could go on.

I play PS3. I wanted a console specifically and I object to 360 on ideological grounds. It may be a good console, but it's wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong. But when I can afford it I will get a PC and get most of my games on Steam, I think. That seems like the way to go.

I play my PSP and DS the most. I use public transportation to get to work and it takes about 35-40 minutes for a single trip. Need something to fill the time and lugging around a console, tv and generator to power all of it just isn't convenient.

I prefer my 360 because of Achievements and also because my PC can barely handle Minecraft.
